Speak on it!!! Same.

And the backlash was bad before. I am curious to see how it will be now with yet another no/little heads-up.

The backlash was bad but the ratings for the repeats were good and it went up when the show came back. I think that's what CBS is more focused on. I just don't understand why they can't let us know in advance. Even with casting everything is so last minute. They have no one to blame but themselves for the contentious relationship fans have with them.

Has anybody done any calculations to see where this would put us at the end of the year?

If they preempt for Thanksgiving and Christmas and there are no other interruptions or changes, that means Dec. 31st will be episode 204.

I don't recall if the Friday after Thanksgiving is usually preempted or a repeat. I haven't watched a soap this regularly in a long time.

If I recall, it depends on the soap and the network. CBS aired "soap classics," but I can't remember which days that happened.

So I remember re: backlash. I remember the ratings maintaining for the repeats. But I didn't know about the up. So good.

My issue...given the discussions we had around the boards about potential reasons for potential repeat weeks in the foreseeable future...was that CBS has given no warning...or even what they might show. I do like we here had a quick heads-up. But I know our heads at SON are great at their jobs and their tea. ;) :)

Meanwhile, online appears to have found out an hour ago vs us finding out...hmmm...by end of today's episode Pacific time. So six hours ago. Again...we know people are great at their jobs here on the page. ;) ;) CBS on the other hand...deserve some backlash. So what you said about their relationships with the fans...same.

Thank you! Hopefully it's as simple as trying to make a 200 episode order work and next year will be different.

It's just so silly. Everybody knows when you say nothing and let people speculate, that's when things get crazy. Use it to your advantage and build momentum. Since they've already done week one I'm curious what episodes they'll repeat next week.

Same.

Exactly!!! Still curious to see what gets picked this time. Perhaps the anniversary party episodes?

No his version was far superior, people just don't wanna accept that cause of this actor supposedly being "better"

This.

The new Ted is a good actor, but he doesn't have the same gravitas Maurice brought to the role.  Maurice was believable as the rich, successful, well-known, self-confident plastic surgeon. When the recast occurred, they started writing Ted like a loser.  I don't blame the actor.  He's probably capable of playing some level or gravitas.  But the writing is failing him, and possibly the directing also.  Someone should tell the actor to play Ted stronger and with more self confidence -- isn't that the director's job??

There’s an extreme lack of presence and commanding nature with Keith for me.

Maurice might have been more surface level acting wise.. but he had charisma and a presence... while Nu Ted might have more nuance in his acting choices.. he doesn't have the presence nor charisma that Maurice had.

Maurice was walking charisma for me. I’ve pretty much lost all interest in Ted at this point.

so, if the speculation that nuTed was the actor they wanted initially is correct, then it follows that their original intent was for ted to be seen as a loser.

with original ted, their mutual connection (and attraction) between him and nicole was clear. i see nicole with nuTed, have no idea what she ever saw in him, much less why she married him.

and what is with the blasting music that keeps popping on?

I’m wondering if the plan all along was to divorce Ted and Nicole so the lack of any sort of spark between Nicole and Ted with Keith makes the divorce easier for accept. With OG Ted you truly believed he and Nicole were madly in love with each other.

You also believed he would be fighting for her, too.

Looking at it, they might end up pre-empting another week to ensure the new cycle of episodes start in 2026. I wonder if the show started airing slightly earlier than they expected considering the 200 episode order - maybe they had planned to start the show post-March Madness, but made the decision to put it earlier (without ordering new episodes).

It'll be interesting if the new cycle of episodes has a 250 episode order or not. That would tell us if they're planning to continue pre-empting the show on the regular.

Exactly this! TBH this version of Ted makes me wonder what on earth Nicole ever saw in him let alone how she'd fall for him

it also occurred to me that the original plan was to contrast ted and nicole’s marriage with dani and bill’s, which makes sense dramatically. but keith’s not available, so they cast maurice and the audience responds accordingly.

problem is that for a good chunk of the audience, it feels like a bait-and-switch.

Totally unnecessary but I asked AI to generate a magenta house in a gated community to see how tacky it would come out.
