This should’ve happened months ago and been a semi regular thing. They had excellent friend chemistry dating all the way back to the wedding at the beginning of the series.

That shocked the hell out of me.

I agree. Kristen Dimera Hayley has been needing a confidante for a good minute and she had that in Caroline. I was glad to see them in scenes today.

Same. I about fell out.

In regards to the Caroline/Hayley friendship scenes, I liked their vibe and it makes me wonder why it took 120+ episodes for the two to have a good friendship scene.  This makes me wonder if this episode is the first batch of episodes written/constructed after the debut of the show and perhaps more tweaks will continue to show up.

@TaoboiI do remember Chelsea talking to Martin about the trouple set up between her/Allison/Craig.. and mentioning that the encounters between her and Allison were so much more satisfying that they were leaving Craig out of it.  Looking back, another little nugget of foreshadowing especially when it is now revealed that Craig wasn't involved/married to Allison... and I do remember when Joey revealed his owning the escort service after Vanessa tried to ulitize the service and he called her out on it.

With that said, I wonder if Chelsea will bring up that she did go to Allison wanting to explore their connection.. and Alison turned her down explaining that she was married and that their times together were meant to be no strings attached because she was married to Craig.

I'm still thinking there is another shoe waiting to drop... and that too good to be true Madison is somehow involved with this.  Especially since she admitted that she had also followed Chelsea on social media and was being bashful about it.

If it is the same of episodes after feedback, they can keep the Hayley/Caroline scenes coming. Those are very much needed and wanted.

Yeah, I said last week, that it's funny going back to BTG...moreso when they did that week of repeats of the first week...and you realize how much foreshadowing in plain sight they did on their storylines. Hey, I believe I said that I wondered if Madison might be related to Barbara and see how that turned out. lol. I'm still in awe at the Allison twist. Especially with Craig being one of Joey's escorts. How deep DOES Joey's story tentacles go?

I remember that scene of Allison waving her off. Hard to get? Or the loony just testing her.

I liked Madison, but I did side-eyed then (and how fast her and Chels were moving). It went away. Now...I admit I am side-eying again.

Making the disappearance of Bill's daughter all about her is something else. Girl is clueless.

IKR. It was so Kristen delusion-coded for me.

Good scene between Naomi and Nicole, although when Naomi blamed herself, she went overboard in making it all about her.

I liked a lot of the change-ups in scene partners to me. Naomi/Nicole. Bill/Madison. etc.

Is Bill going to be upset when he finds out Chelsea likes women? They'd better be careful if they write that story. We all know what happened to the Natalia character on GH when she showed off her homophobia. Eva LaRue never recovered.

I think Bill knows this. It's just that he's so out of touch with her life. It took me aback today tbh because I feel like while he's very close to Naomi, it always appeared he was just as close to Chels as well.

This storyline was actually "previewed" in Episode #3, back in February.

Vanessa was at Uptown with a male hooker, doing some roleplay.  He was pretending to be her "greatest fan" who wanted to spend some time alone with her.  Dani Dupree came barging in (fresh off her Golf Club Takedown of Big Bill's desk), and she asked Vanessa, "Who is THIS?!  Where is Doug?!"  Vanessa looked guilty & embarrassed, lamely stated that the prostitute was "Zeke" from her realty office who was dropping off some keys, and the hustler hastily scampered out the door.

Sheila Ducksworth (executive producer) did a podcast a few weeks ago in which she admitted she'd gotten hooked on soaps as a youngster, watching The Edge of Night weekday afternoons on ABC.  While Michele Val Jean isn't a Henry Slesar by any means, this is 100% an Edge of Night-type storyline, where a fairly naive individual (Chelsea) unknowingly wanders into a seamy underworld of hookers & psychos, and everything is slightly different from the way it initially seemed.  It was all right there in front of our faces months ago, just like Edge of Night.

Do not put that out there in the universe.

That would only drive Dani and Bill closer together.

See? I just thought at the time that it was just part of the open arrangement that Vanessa and Doug had and she was just finding random men at the time. So didn't connect that to Joey and his escort service. Wow.

Yeah, sooo in plain sight. Again.

Woooooow. Literally in our faces from the very beginning!

Michele Val Jean made a comment to the effect of saying that the writer team had a plan and wasn't just making up as they go along.

The show has been giving EON vibes with Kat's amateur sleuthing and it's heavy usage of recurring and guest characters.

Yes it has, along with the corrupt cop (Marcel) and the frequent use of the police department and attorneys.  Many of EON's attributes are present on this show.

Not to mention the literary IRONY and "parallelisms" we saw on Edge.  After the introductory scene of Vanessa & the "male escort" in Episode #3, the next usage of the Uptown set (Episode #4) was when Chelsea, celebrating her Ebony shoot and her surge in social media followers, was approached by the man known as "Craig" at the Uptown bar.  It was basically a "replay" of the Vanessa/Zeke scene with the "lady" and the "escort", but it was disguised sufficiently to throw most viewers off.

At first I wasn't fooled by Craig -- I assumed he was a hooker, too -- but he never asked for money, which made it somewhat bewildering.  And then a few episodes later, he introduced Chelsea to his "wife" Allison.  It LOOKED like the set-up for a con game (putting Chelsea in a compromising position and bilking Senator Dupree out of some $$$), but it never materialized in that direction, and I slowly decided Allison & Craig perhaps were on the up & up, till that weird "wound" Allison received that required a trip to the hospital.

Perhaps this is the answer. MJV hiring some crime fiction writers to give it more of that vibe. The late great Henry Slesar was awesome by the way, and The Edge of Night was simply one of a kind. Yall done "got me in my feels" so what the hell, here goes..............

Some of yall are very generous with your assessment of BTG, let's just leave it at that. Sassy Season 8 GIF by RuPaul's Drag Race

However, I wouldn't mind giving BTG an EON edge if it blends and balances it well with more traditional soap.

Right! "Walk and chew gum at the same time" is what the really old folk used to say back in the day. Also, that's exactly what EON managed to accomplish. There were plenty of traditional soap moments while incorporating equal amounts of suspense.

kat going to joey armstrong —

how could this possibly going to end well?

This is the most interested I have been in Joey since the start of this soap and I do not care for this character at all, so it's working for me.
