They gave the character so much build up at the start, even having him re-enact Bill Hayes's first scenes, only for him to be gone 7 months later. Talk about not living up to the hype. They should have tried to find a good actor for the character from the beginning.

I just don’t see how they saw his audition and were like this kid is def the one to continue Bill Hayes’ legacy on the show.

I think they might've hired him for the resume alone - regular on Girl Meets World for the entire run, recurring role on American Housewife for four seasons and then having a Netflix movie under his belt must've been appealing for DAYS
