I'm truly disgusted with uniformed outlets reporting information as fact, particularly mainstream outlets that generally use interns or general news writers that either use ChatGPT (AI of some kind) or does no actual research when publishing material.

TV Insider is INCORRECTLY reporting the Emmys are taking place in October and will air on CBS.

Baby, when I tell you CBS said no to the double hell N.O. to airing the Emmys this year, take it to the bank... or don't since no money was being deposited in the network's accounts.

Also, why is no one understanding that this year's Emmys is a single ceremony with no separate Creative Arts ceremony? This means like five whole hours of Emmys in one day.

I have no doubt they use AI for their "research." I can tell you first-hand the information can be bad.

A few months ago, I asked Chat GTP how many Emmys Thorsten Kaye has won. They answer I got was "None, but he has been nominated." I knew he'd won 2 Lead Actor Emmys in a row, so I argued back that the information was wrong.

Chat GTP responded again that he'd won no Emmys and gave me the years when he'd been nominated. I was both annoyed and having fun at this point, so I again told the AI that their information was terrible, and that I knew TK had won at least two Emmys.

This went back-and-forth FOUR TIMES before I was told "You are right! We double-checked our information!" I was then fed the correct answer and Chat GTP thanked me for pressing them until I got the right answer.

Long story short, don't believe everything you read on any AI.

Daytime Emmys stopped being relevant once Susan Lucci streak was over.

Yes, ironic that the last Emmys of the 1990s were the last time they were truly relevant.

They were stupid to submit SSH in Lead when she is clearly a supporting actress. Not only that, but it would've been easier to get a nod that way. She didn't even appear in 40 episodes last year...I don't understand the shock to be honest.

Precisely. She had nominations in 2018 and 2020 in the Supporting Actress category. The only explanation for why she was submitted as Lead is one thing: ego.

Oh now there's some piping hot tea. NATAS is driving 100 miles an hour into irrelevancy.

Absolutely disgusting, indeed. They are incredibly lazy and incompetent.

That seems weird to me. Well, for starters do we know who made the decision? I would guess an EP. Also, to me, the greatest service to ego would be successfully garnering a nomination, which they failed to do while they still managed to draw attention to themselves. One thing this does show is that people in general still care.

So last night on Michael Fairman Laura was asked about the relationship, Jason & Carly, and then they went on & he asked her something about her relationship with Jack & she said it is so funny to her when people ask her, how does she think Carly is going to react, like to Joss being recruited & it's Jack who is behind it, etc. And, Laura said, How do YOU think she's going to react? She laughed & said, She's going to lose her sh*t. And, some Puritannical fan in the chat objected & asked Micheal do we have to have swearing in your chats? And, I and many others just rolled our eyes. I mean, come on.

Michael Fairman interviewed the nominees live on July 10th
Three hours and 26 minutes total.

Fairman said some actors couldn’t make it due to short notice.
Eric Martsolf is there, although he's not listed in the YT description.

They were on the live interview in this order:

1. Peter Bergman
2. Sharon Case
3. Eric Martsolf
4. Melissa Claire Egan
5. Greg Rikaart
6. Laura Wright
7. Michael Graziadei
8. Courtney Hope

9 and 10.
Susan Walters and Linden Ashby together

11. Michelle Stafford

12 and 13.
Linsey Godfrey and Paul Telfer together

14. Blake Berris is in Ireland, so he couldn’t do the live youtube.
He did his interview with Fairman earlier in the day, and his interview was spliced into the end of this youtube.

SSH was a 'lead' in that particular storyline. The categories are so broad and almost meaningless, regardless.

Totally agree! SSH had a 9 minute monologue (unheard of these days) giving Doug’s eulogy and she was brilliant! She was the lead. Who did she support?
To your point that the categories are broad - yes, absolutely. Even the supporting actors submit scenes where they are the ‘lead’. They want the focus on them to win the award.

This Daytime Emmys calendar makes zero sense from an audience or relevance standpoint. An October 2025 ceremony honoring performances from 2024? Some people already complain that the Oscars in March (!) are too late to recognize the previous year’s films, most of which came out only a few months earlier. But this? We’ll be handing out awards for storylines that, in some cases, wrapped up 20 months earlier (nearly two years!), some of which the shows themselves will have already retconned. And it’s scheduled right in the thick of fall TV premiere season, when networks are least likely to give up primetime inventory for a low-rated event with no ad or streaming upside.

Exactly! and next year they should extend the time frame if they're going to air them so late, maybe do a year and a half or something, geesh

About the timing (Faulkner's post) I don't know whether I'm confused or whether there's something wrong.

About the categories, it's been drummed into my head that it's not the story it's the role. Also not unclear. If you are supporting & for a time you are in a big story even if you are carrying the show for that time, you are still a supporting character. But, anyway, that milk is spilt & there's no undoing it.
