B&B: July 2025 Discussion Thread

Imagine if Bill Bell knew that 40 years later, the character of Brooke will be in the exact starting position she was in 1987 - in "love" with Ridge, but still not able to sustain a lasting relationship with him. All of these years, all of these marriages, all of these pregnancies and scandals later, Brooke is back to her early 20s phase.

Bradley Bell has denied her any growth, he has stripped her from anything that is not defined by Ridge. If you close your eyes a little, you may even believe she's the young Brooke from day 1. But she isn't. She isn't smart anymore, she isn't cunning, she lacks ambition and she is predictable. She lets people like Steffy railroad her and she lets Ridge walk over her. She wants a man who calls her daughter a whore and a bitch.

It's Brooke, yes, but without any of the character traits that made her attractive and interesting. The traits which... even through Bradley's bad writing, could save the show many times. Gone are the twist and turns of the histrionics, gone are the sexcapades, gone is the determination to win over her adversaries, gone is the creativity in finding new paths for her career, gone is even the girlish humor that made her cute. The only thing left is her romantic-obsessive trait. But that has turned from exciting to pathetic. Because, sweetheart, it's 40 years later and the world has moved on. You are going to die an old bitter woman still clutching your lingerie, still begging Ridge to - "Pick me!". 

In this current state of the character, she is either incredibly stupid or a mentally ill woman that needs psychiatric help. I pick version 1, because it's obvious Bradley thinks this is normal. 

The next thing we'll see is Nick making moves on Brooke and Ridge turning away from Taylor. In a year Brooke and Ridge will be married or together again and the only conflict will be Steffy thinking that Brooke is a slut. 

THAT'S ALL.

I'm sure Bill Bell would be appalled if he knew what Brad has done to his creation, and by that I don't mean only Brooke, but B&B as a whole. The show is creatively bankrupt and it's painfully obvious that Brad Bell is incapable of doing anything about it. With stubborn determination he just keeps churning out the same stories over and over again, even though they stopped being interesting decades ago.

I tune in today for the first time in 2 weeks to see Heather Tom working an Emmy reel again with the overacting, which does not match up with Will’s bland acting.  Then there’s Zero chemistry Ridge / Taylor - I’ll check back in hopes of Luna snatching Hayes lolllllll. 
 

Why am I rooting for her a little? Hahahaha any preschool teacher or babysitter with a brain cell knows s NOT gonna just let any stranger hang around makin paper swans lolllllll

Katie was over the top ridiculous. the histrionics had me rolling my eyes. Yet if Will had done this type of thing for Brooke, Katie would have been gushing what a hero he is *eye roll*

Sorry Brad I'm not buying Sheila's redemption AT ALL. It's fake and forced 

 

Yeah I agree, Brooke won't grow and IMO Susan Flannery leaving was the death knell to Brooke. There's literally no one to keep Brooke in check anymore

All of a sudden we have this day player doctor becoming the main character and losing her mind over Liam while Finn comforts her about her home life.

-- Why doesn't Steffy just tell Luna what she wants to hear -- that she can see her father? Especially since Luna is holding a gun.

@ranger1rg @Maxim I thought Dr. B was a cardiologist. Why is she so invested in Liam's case?

Reading the recaps, the fact that Dr. B was randomly talking about harassing calls/texts, means we're getting a typical B&B reset of Liam's condition.

We all know about Italy. I find it hard to believe that Ridge/Brooke would abandon their granddaughters if Liam passed. I've been under that assumption as soon as the timing for the remote was announced. 

 

Can someone tell me the difference between RJ and Will?  Will is just as boring as RJ was but RJ was way hotter. Of course, frat bro dad works for sister's show. I wonder if that's why he got the role.

Crew Morrow is cute, but he isn't hot. He's also no better an actor than Joshua Hoffman, who's bangin' body is definitely missed.

I hated the way RJ spoke, but I agree, that body.

On another note, today's episode was ridiculous.

Same dialogue repeated over and over for three episodes, ending in someone finally being shot.

He truly  does milk it. 

I watched the first two minutes.  Then FF. Got back to them, Luna started repeating Steffy blah, blah, and I FF'ed again.
