I assume it is literally about Susan, Morgan, etc.'s insurance. It's a favor Frank (and surely not only him) has done for soap vets many times. I would rather find any other way to do this, any time H&H appears a part of my soul dies.

I keep wondering if they've ever officially made Batten's silly character a relative of Luna or something.

The insurance aspect I respect, similar to what Angela Lansbury did for her friends. I do wish it was used in better ways.

Every time I see her I remember how horrible she was on ATWT. It was so painful to watch her as Connor Walsh.

The man looks like he’s on the other side of 35, why are they pairing him with these girls? It irks me that their primary screen partners are these old(er) men. They’re in college! Tell some fun college stories with age appropriate love interests!

Any time they try that with Joss, it flops, but I assume this is just a stall with Emma until she is properly paired with Gio.

Yeah, I was incredibly bored by the flashbacks. I wanted to get back to the guy sitting next to Jason on the plane. What's his story? How did he get to be so handsome?

The Deception scenes today were very silly, as Deception-related scenes often are. But I did enjoy seeing Susan Batten on my screen for a few minutes today, since I was a big fan of Luna/Max on OLTL. Speaking of OLTL alums, I was surprised that Frank didn't get Terri Conn to do those Home Shopping Network scenes (although I guess she wouldn't have wanted to fly out to LA just to do a 1-day stint on GH).

I actually kept wondering if that guy was going to be part of the Britt plot or say something lol.

Instead, he and Jason basically sat there in silence.  It was so strange because I thought there was a reason the show was focusing on Flight Passenger #2.

The Deception/Home Shopping stories never make much sense to me.  I always believed Deception was high end, but apparently, they make most of their money doing these QVC shows.  It makes Deception seem cheaper and wackier than I think it should be.

It also makes Lucy seem borderline incompetent.  Lucy always been eccentric, but I never got the indication she was a poor businesswoman or wasn't capable of running Deception in the 90's. Deception also only sold perfume in the beginning, so their product line completely changed focus.

Basically the show just used a nostalgic name/company and changed everything about it.

Doesn't the show actually sell those beauty products on a website somewhere? They make a little coin on the side, as they turn GH into a real life infomercial?

I hope that they also see those scenes as an attempt to do pure comedy. But comedy is hard;  those scenes always come off as cringey and FF material.

They did launch a website for those products, although it looks like it's done?  You can only look up past orders and not buy anything anymore.  I have a feeling it wasn't very successful lol.

It's odd because I think all these actors are capable of comedy especially Lynn and Rena, but it gives me a mixed message.  Is Deception a serious business or is it comedic relief?

I feel like the show has had trouble writing Lucy-related storylines for quite a while now. It's like the writers understand that she's a comic character, but have no idea what tone to go for. And then putting Brook Lynn into the Deception context doesn't work at all, because she's such a wet blanket.
