Rikaart: We did. We shot three shows a day for three days; and then our last day was four episodes which was -- that was a humdinger, that was a lot of work.  Because they're not. . .  they're edited down to about an hour, but some of them have gone *way* longer.

 This explains so much.

I just watched Episode 5 with Maurice Benard and it was quite moving. Maurice is probably polarizing to people, but this was a good interview and it really moved me. Rebecca and Greg really did a great job too with Maurice.  They all cried!

Something I found interesting in that interview is that when Marc Cherry asked about the soap production model, Greg mentioned that Days is 11 months ahead and that Peacock is concerned about that because of quality control. Obviously if he's saying that, it's come up and it made me wonder if maybe the new HWs aren't working out as well as they'd hoped.

DAYS could really benefit from everyone doing a "Port Charles" hiatus and take off for a solid 6 months, at least. If need be, the writers, producers etc can gather and reassess, but have the show go dark in the meantime. That kind of advanced taping for a soap is just ridiculous.

I do agree that might work better. They'd still be able to get ahead and save money with their weeks down but it would give the writers more time to flesh out story.

Another good episode. I just really love Budig and Rikaart's friendship. I also love that Budig is so fond of AMC.

I really wish Marc had worn a different shirt...

Yeah, it was a decent interview. I also love how much Budig brings AMC up in conversation.😉

The videos are all now hidden for me on YouTube.  Does anyone know if this is because I am located in Canada?
