I remember being on this board when Ethan was introduced. How fuc.king stupid to make him Holly and Luke’s child over Holly and Robert given everything I heard. Also regardless I hated ol marble mouth Ethan 😂

Ethan/Nathan Parsons grew on me.  He had stupid hair, but some charm.

The narrative that Luke actively cheated on Laura because he was bored just grates on me.  And I don't even like Luke/Laura very much.

It was such a wild rewrite when everything I ever heard was they were written as a fun adventurous couple with their kid, but because Tony Geary no longer liked what made him famous in the first place, let’s trash that legacy.

The whole thing was even worse because it just seemed predicated on Geary's many issues, not any story sense. Among other things a desperate attempt at recreating JJ Lucky, just older and even greasier.

I agree with all this.  That would make a lot more sense.

On the other hand I suppose it's a nice idea to give Robert/Holly a child in the same broad sense that I think it would be nice if one of Sonny's kids belonged to Brenda.  Not meant to be. The show had the chance with Ethan.  I think in the end it was more of an easy way to usher Holly/Robert off the show quickly and they basically picked a character out of hat on the canvas to make their child.

It was such an odd waste on an entire year of build up for Cody/Sasha.

If they had really wanted Cody to have a downward spiral at least that would have been a story, but what they tried to tell didn't work (although his punching Drew was fun) and now he's back in the perpetually hesitant place the character is often stuck in.

I do like Cody interacting with Ava but that’s because Maura has chemistry with literally everyone.

If I recall it wasn't logistically even possible that Luke/Holly snuck off for an affair due to what we had been told about the things that happened previously with both characters.

I am not exactly sure what Geary saw in Parsons.  He's not anything like JJ.  He's goofier and dopier and the show did nothing with Parsons except give him a dead-end romance with Mya and tease him with teenage Kristina.  Johnny/Ethan's bromance was probably the best thing about the whole run.  I really didn't dislike Ethan and thought a Kristina/Ethan romance with a very slow build up would have possibly worked ala Jason/Robin.  It was a whole lotta effort for a mostly forgotten character though.

I don't mind if they have a fun story in place. I know a lot of her fans don't like it, but to be honest I don't think any stories with this character work outside of Maura and the chemistry she shares with certain others (like Trina or Ric), so it doesn't bother me, as long as there's a spark between the actors. Some kind of messy and ill defined grouping of Molly/Cody/Ava/Ric/Liz could be interesting.

L&L were written like that, but by the time Ethan came around the whole thing was off the rails with Luke and the Laura pairing.

My memories of Luke and Laura when I got into the show was of a catatonic Laura coming out and I think they got married before she went catatonic again at some point. I feel like at some point I saw Laura as she currently is but I don’t remember when.

Supposedly something TG pushed for, and then pushed again when Ron Carlivati tried to reverse it upon arrival in '12 (hence the very quick 180 where Robert briefly believed Ethan to be his son after all before leaving town).

I suspect had it been left to Guza II, they would've made Ethan Robert and Holly's in the first place.

I do think Cody and Ava could work for awhile, as do Ric and Ava. I also think Elizabeth could use Cody for a fling, but he plugs in a lot of places and with many characters, yes even Tracy. The boring options (Sasha, Molly) seem to be what the show prefers.

I didn't hate Nathan Parsons. I think he worked hard despite being limited. But he was an embarrassing spare part once they got Jonathan back, and the blood connection was not necessary. And yeah, his best chemistry was with two non-options (Johnny and underage Kristina) the show wasn't going to go for.

If he ever needs money I wouldn't necessarily hate him or a good recast coming back, but I would probably still make him Scorpio's lol.

Well, do you remember when Ethan was flirting and kissed JMB's Lulu?  I am sure Guza's original plan was different because that's just weird lol.  Worse than the Sasha/Cody kissing cousins situation.

Who on God's cursed earth is that? This looks sadder and weirder than Kristin Minter in the mid-2000s.

Rory Gibson was so tasty in today's episode. That bod!!

The rest of the episode was so bland.

Yep. He's good.

This whole week was FF material for me. Sigh!
