I am 💯 with you on this; Alexa Havins Bruening is more viable, especially in comparison to Amanda Setton.

When I think Jane Elliot looks fresher and younger than BLQ there's a problem.........

But Tracy always slays so that might be unfair.

Hehe. Very.

Though I thought AS looked great today.

I think Setton is a horrible lead.  She's dated like a 50's housewife without even being old.  Havins is much more viable, but no one listens to me lol.  I expect so much more from Ned/Lois's daughter and I don't think I am wrong about that.

The fact that Havins is more viable is why BLQ should be reset in some way. She's a Q for Cricket's sake AND Ned/Lois's daughter. She should be so much more than what she is. And while she might be crying over all that happened, she would not be taking this bullying from Lulu sitting down. But given the writing on this show...rather than nuances in that...I'm sure BLQ is about to regress because of what Lulu did...which sadly will prove Lulu right.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Not even caught up yet, but I jumped to today's episode with the quickness when I heard someone did what I just discussed yesterday. lol.

Loved that slap today. Lulu totally had that coming. Continue loving any scenes with Lulu vs Brook Lynn.  AS and AH have fantastic adversarial chemistry.

And then thought she was going to fight. I was like...didn't the last time BLQ landed a slap on you, it was the backhanded pimp slap that made you stumble backwards?

Have a seat.

I agree that in her current form she definitely is. I just think it didn't (and doesn't) have to be this way. She could do great work on the show without being Granny Moses before her time. If she can't get past that she should go.

And yes, I absolutely agree Havins is exceptional. But it seems clear the show is using her as more the heavy opposite what Frank sees as the new key heroine, namely his OLTL star Amanda Setton as BLQ. It's an bizarre fit given the total reversal from how both characters were treated for most of the last 20 years lol.

And yes, Alexa should be leading the show. But I said that about Becky and JJ too, and here we are. In a better world we should be able to have both Lulu and BLQ well-treated and performed. But Frank spins the show around Frank's faves. And it's very obvious and weird given this particular favorite is sexless.

My GOD I want Brook Lynn to punch Lulu in the taint. Jfc she’s a menace!

”She hit me!” Yeah, stand still so she can do it again.

Hey, let’s let Chris McKenna wear something other than a suit at some point. He looked ridiculous at the pool.

Willow and Drew and the ripple effect of their affair is the best thing to happen on this show in years. I don’t like them but I love them.

Unlike most of Sonny, Carly and Jason’s foils Drew isn’t easy to dismiss or kill off. Which is why this story works. He’s the town bad guy. Good! I’m not saying he comes close to an Adam Chandler or Victor Newman but soaps need a rich jackass who everyone treats like the boogeyman but isn’t actually evil, just totally driven by his own self-interest. For years the bad guys on this show have been interlopers you knew weren’t going to last a contract cycle (if they were lucky!).

For so long everyone was so effing nice minus the disposable Cyrus or Victor or that reptilian in the ascot raising his mutant test tube baby.

I don't know where all Setton's charm and charisma went.  I know she used to have some lol.  If Lulu is destined to be the heavy, I would honestly focus on Maxie instead.  Kirsten seems revitalized these days.

Frank's version of GH is mostly sexless so it does make sense.

After certain casting spoilers, I'll be lucky if I don't get Bree Williamson's Claudette back.  Although I actually don't know if Claudette is dead or alive so I could be worrying for nothing.

Thanks for that laugh.  Perfect way to describe him.

Jane Elliot is forever young.

True.  An unfair comparison on my part.

Brook Lynn was a lot less "woe is me, Chase help" yesterday than she has been in the past so I'll see where it goes.

Yeah, you would think Alexia and Amanda could be co-leading ladies if anything. Because the rivalry does have legs. But slanted writing and all that.

Very. CM is playing a prick to the hilt.

Haha, welcome! Thanks to @Vee I can't think of her as anything but a crime against nature.

It's funny to see Setton criticized right now when the past few months are the first time she's impressed me. She's sunk her teeth into this and it shows IMO. The way she's played her simmering rage at Lulu is the first time she's felt like Tracy's lineage.

Her wardrobe is insane and I don't understand it. A linebacker masquerading as a glittery tuxedo cat is not the look I would have chosen for the big reveal of Gio as her son but what do I know?

This plot has made me like Chase for the first time! I love a wife guy on a soap! That's his woman and he's on her side no matter (until they inevitably divorce at some point in the future). It's nice to see a guy be ride or die for his girl, on this show it's the women who spend their free time acting as cheerleaders for the men.

This plot has also made me dislike Dante. I found his reaction to Rocco's alcohol poisoning to be wildly out of character and his stance in regard to Chase isn't in step with who he is either. They clearly want him to have a certain perspective to amp up the conflict but it's not working in those instances. Only his reactions to Brook Lynn and Lulu (especially) rang true. I don't think Dominic buys it either which in resulting in some of his weaker performances.

I think Setton's acting in this story has been on point. It's the overall longtime handling of the character vis a vis her BTS preferences I have an issue with, and the obvious focus on her as FV's old friend and therefore Handmaid Tale's-esque heroine of the show vs. Alexa Havins' Lulu. You can have both without dragging the other into the mud, but Frank evidently wants everyone to know sensibly-dressed Amanda Setton is the star of General Hospital.

I agree. Setton is bringing it for me right now and she’s never done that much for me in this role.
