There has been some confusion about Michael & facial burns. Please see this post: https://bsky.app/profile/shallotpeel.bsky.social/post/3lqkrryu54226

I've chosen to put this here instead of the Classic Thread because it is now with the appearance of recast Michael that this has come up. Different places online, including at least one podcast, remarks have been made about how remarkable it is that he is without facial scarring. Other fans say it was clear from the first that he did not have facial burns. What is included in this post is 2 screengrabs where you can see his face at the hospital & a very quick edit of that day in the hospital.

Lois and Gloria did the right thing
I feel knowing it was Camila that raised Gio has BL feeling some jealousy
No one is saying that Camila was a bad mother to Gio
I believe it will be Gio saying that Camila was great to him, thanking Lois and Gloria to get BL to see truth

Okay, I continue to maintain that what is so good about this particular reveal followed by umbrella storyline is that you can see & understand many different points of view where there is not one bad guy or one 100% right person.

About your stated opinion, that Lois & Gloria did the right thing, you know that this was technically an illegal adoption? For it to have been legal the father, if known, would have to have been informed & have signed off on terminating his own paternal rights. And, of course, it is clear how many people they lied to.

Personally I feel like Lois is going to take the biggest "public" blame with Lulu a close second in the blame category.

I am looking forward to a tongue lashing I hope Brook Lynn gives to Gloria.

I continue to be more than annoyed with Dante. First his attitude toward Gio with regards to Rocco & a drinking game & its results. Second his attitude toward Lulu.

Meanwhile enjoying the show every day!

Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

I would love to have Monica on screen. Leslie Charleson has died. She played the role for 46 years. Monica should pass as well. No one is going to accept a long-term recast for Monica, no matter how great  the actress they could get.

I have my fingers crossed for a baby to be named Monica Michelle & called Monica. And, yes, I do realize that is not equal to having her onscreen but, like you said & of course a recast is unthinkable. If people think back the show took their time & picked their time both with Sonya Eddy & with Jackie Zeman & did well both times. I feel like they will again.

-- I know all these confrontation scenes are needed after the Gio reveal, but I hope this doesn't go on too long. It gets repetitive.

-- It was good to see Gloria Cerullo (Lois' mother) but I could have done without the "Respect your elders" lecture.

-- Just as I thought, Gio went to Sonny first. Guess he had to hear all the truth from the biggest criminal in town. And now the show ends with Dante visiting Sonny for some paternal wisdom. And the previews show Dante telling Sonny he owes him an apology? GMAFB.

-- At least we're not getting Natalia thrown in. Eva LaRue seems to be on her way out....at least I hope she is.

-- The preview with Gio walking in on his mother, grandmother, and great grandmother looks good, but let's move it along, people.

-- The writing for Liz and Lucky is so damn weird. Would Liz really be so mellow and laid back when she hears from Lucky that he knew what Kristina did and that he's perfectly OK with covering it up?

Based on the dialogue today, it did seem like Brook Lynn/AS spent a lot of the episode pointing out how ridiculous the whole rewrite about Gio is

But I'm still enjoying the storyline though. Even Sonny wasn't that bad today. His scenes with Gio were necessary, I guess.

However, what I did find unnecessary today was this whole Liz/Lucky thing. Just friggin reunite them already.

    • To clarify, we could argue about the necessity to have John Black speak while in hospital, but the body created an opportunity for people to touch him, and move around him.  Even though I never totally suspended my disbelief, I appreciated their creative choice to form a visual representation of loss.  Certainly there were other ways to tell this story, but it will stay with me because those production choices enabled these performances. However, with disdain, I note that Days has found an odd middle ground between a flashback and a montage.  I define a flashback as least a couple of rounds of dialogue, if not a whole scene.  And a montage would be a visual snippet without much dialogue.  But, these were often just a single line, or an entrance.  It felt like a bit of tease, and made me wish that Peacock had curated a playlist of John Black's Greatest Hits, like they do for some Bravo shows.
    • It's tough for me because I feel like this has always been Lulu. She used to be even worse, slut-shaming, verbally abusing other women, and always being written as being in the right. They should let Brook Lynn get dirtier, but I think the material of Lulu digging and being self-righteous, making everything worse even while not intending to do so, but also not being as in the wrong as Dante thinks she is, all makes sense for her. But I don't have as much experience with Lulu as a lot of fans as I just could never stomach her beyond the time she was a mute kid, so I don't have much right to speak.
    • Thanks @JAS0N47 for all the ratings!   All My Children hits Number 1 in the ratings for the first time in its history during the week of 8/20/73-8/20/73!
    • I think the writing is slanted against Lulu.  I don't think there is an issue with the character in general.  I just think Lulu comes doesn't get many layers or nuance in her writing.  Lulu becomes obnoxious and a bully to Brook Lynn and both characters SHOULD have flaws.
    • Totally here for Anita dumping Sharon in the past for first Dante Green, and then Vernon...

    • Amanda Setton and Rena Sofer was once again really good in today's episode.  As a Lucky/Liz fan, I didn't like their scenes either.  And they are nowhere near a proposal because they haven't been given a real story.
    • I don't think Lulu is written that badly.  Lucky they do seem to have no real interest in. I wonder if this is another story they have decided to wrap up abruptly as it makes zero sense to have what would have clearly been serious conflict between Liz and Lucky just get shrugged off by her. Maybe the intense viewer negativity toward Kristina got through to them.
