I admire Dani and Nicole's sisterly bond. The cup-throwing scene was silly yet cute. They truly support and have each other's backs. Nicole looked stunning all week. Love the way she rocks all her suits!💯

@Antoyne Colby is fantastic! I expected her position, and I can't say it was a bad move. I wish the show were being smarter in its liking of her. She should be working side-by-side with her father to bring down Leslie, not running around on her own.  It's an ensemble, treat it as such! I am eagerly waiting for the show's big love story, and I have a feeling that will also be her storyline soon.

Great point!

Has Tamara Tunie ever been nominated for a Daytime Emmy?

Honestly since the Ted switch, he’s such a non factor now, I’m almost okay with her doing this on her own. I don’t feel the bond she had before and the character now is doing nothing, Ted that is.

NuTed gives recurring energy and seems watered down. Carlton played in his face by being disrespectful under the guise of jesting and Ted was like "meh".

I have to agree, something is definitely off with that character now and I'm not blaming the actor. You can't act something that isn't written. That isn't there.

Happy Father's Day to our BTG fathers and surrogate fathers... which all children need even if modern society thinks otherwise (Ashley on this show is exhibit A on that theory).

In regards to the talk of the NuTed vs OgTed.... I'm curious if OgTed decided that the pace of daytime filming wasn't for him.. or if he didn't feel that the writing for the character was subpar.

I wonder if the show hired NuTed because they wanted Ted to be passive and not to overshadow their female characters since this show.   If so, then the show misfired because OgTed might not have been a versatile acting.. but he could match both SPS and Nicole's energy/presence in scenes together.

I don't find the current writing to show Ted as "passive".  I find him to be compassionate and understanding.  I think that fits the type of man that Nicole would want.

I don't think Nicole would have knowingly married an aggressive man.  I feel it's appropriate that Ted be angry at DanaLeslie, yes, of course.
But Ted was starting to be written as ruthless, and I don't think that would have held up for a potential reconciliation.

I think "compassionateTed" is more what Nicole would be drawn to, if Ted and Nicole reconcile later.    I don't think Nicole is the type of woman who would want Ted to be macho defending his wife as property against Carlton.  She's more mature than that.

Myself personally, I'd prefer to be with a man like how Ted is currently written, than previously written. (I'm not commenting on the actors involved.)

But yes, I understand that some posters want Ted to be more assertive, and that "assertive" is not the same as "aggressive".   It's a difficult balance.  I definitely agree that Ted should be MUCH more assertive with DanaLeslie!

I think the show wanted Robinson as Ted from the beginning and that they gave no thought To how strong or how passive he was as the show first aired.

I think the misfire has been the writing for Ted since the recast took place. I don't know what they're doing or thinking, but they've definitely taken Ted "in a new direction -- and they shouldn't have.

It is a huge mistake if they want Ted to be passive. That is a misfire. We already have Doug as passive and submissive, and putting Ted in that category too is  ridiculous.

Based on zero sources and zero inside information, here's what I think happened:

-- Keith D. Robinson was cast as Ted but couldn't appear until a couple months in because of previous obligations.

-- Maurice Johnson was hired as temp Ted and always knew when he'd be leaving.

-- The show was a bit blindsided by the support for Johnson.

-- The writing for Ted has stripped the character of any realization that his life is a complete mess and that he needs to work to make things better.

I think Keith D. Robinson is a very good actor who's been given almost nothing.

That's how I feel too. So far. We'll see how it evolves.

Nah he's passive, he's not doing sh*t to get rid of Leslie, he seems to enjoy having her around. Old Ted would have dragged her for filth, several times over by now.

I don't think him getting Carlton together would have at all been macho or "defending his property". After all, Ted and Nicole are still married and Carlton is trying to take advantage far too quickly. Compassionate isn't what he's coming off as, but more so have half-hearted. At least a little bit of indignation would have been good. Besides that, he now treats Leslie like a minor annoyance when she's a total nutcase. The disdain just isn't there like it should be.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I swear I feel like some of the posters here are watching a different show. We're 3 1/2 months in and I feel like for a brand new show, BTG is definitely excelling and finding its way.

We're getting to know 40 plus characters and that's going to take time. I want to allow the show at least 6 months before nitpicking everything. I am choosing to trust and believe in MVJ and her team. I'm still thoroughly enjoying the show, very much.

Sorry your post couldn't just stand as what it is, positive and hopeful.

I agree, but again, it's their opinion, and it does not affect my watching/liking of the serial, and I urge everyone to continue to take that route, as well. Every soap is going to have its negative Nancy's (in our eyes), or those that will "dog" the serial. It's what comes from a soap opera (regardless of being American, Australian, or British).

Agreed!
