I mean, casting handsome, young, white men with floppy hair isn't exactly a new thing for soaps.  All these characters are supposed to be handsome, young, white men so it's not odd.

If we want to talk about Trina's love interest being Cardboard Kai I can agree.  This isn't the same thing.

Frank made time for Franco (Franco!) and little Jake singing at the Nurses Ball, IIRC. Just as a point of comparison.

True. Maybe Jonathan was willing to perform and Frank just didn't care. I hope not, as they had to spend money they don't have by hiring some other artist to come in and perform one number.

(maybe that's where Blaze would have gone if she were still around)

Do NOT jinx this year or next year.

Sorry.  I sincerely should not have brought that thought into the world.😂

Facially they don't look that similar. I don't think anyone would compare Rory, Giovanni and Van aside from their hair.

Van is also 43, so...I'm sure he would find being compared to some of these guys flattering.

Rory reminds me a little of that unsettling actor who played that godawful son on Nip/Tuck. I doubt it was intentional to go that route with Michael, but it would be interesting if they do try to bring back how deeply unsettling Michael was as a child.

It would have been cute if Lucky did perform and dedicated a song to Elizabeth who couldn't be there, but we don't get nice things

Blaze wasn't actually that good of a singer.  I judge Miguel Morez (more than usual) for his taste in opening acts.

Frank did the same thing on OLTL

Same.  They are easy to tell apart.

I had trouble telling Chad Duell and the guy that played Dex apart at times, but these guys are just like men that look slightly similar?  Not even the same age range.

I don't really get your point.  These people aren't the Ford brothers.

Speaking of one of those floppy-haired guys, were Lucas and Elizabeth portrayed as such close friends when Ryan Carnes was in the role? Not that I'm complaining, because I think Van and Becky are great scene partners, and I loved their "watching the Nurses' Ball at home" scenes today. It was fun to see them dishing about the people at the Ball, and it was a nice contrast to the heavy drama playing out elsewhere.

Not you saying this as I was reading above about the Nip/Tuck actor. lol.

I agree. I don't get the point of that post except to manufacture some kind of bias drama. That hair is in style, as is the French/fringe top with a lot of hair in front.

-- Seeing Liz turn off the Nurses Ball TV broadcast and then have all smiles for Lucas was weird as hell.  Just seemed like a big disconnect after watching so much pain from Gio.

-- I've stated that I'm a fan of the Nurses Ball. However....it will never NOT be weird when they take these long breaks after a performance and we get scenes of characters in other rooms. I know it's not real life, but this makes no sense.

-- I also think the Gio reveal might have been better placed at the end of the other performances. Watching Trina and Joss duet after that Gio reveal was strange. Wouldn't half of the attendees be gone from the room at that point?

-- I understand the Michael reveal going at the end, though. "I'll Be There" amped up the cheese factor like crazy, but holy hell, it worked. Michael's appearance to claim his son was awesome cliffhanger stuff.

-- Kudos to GH for quickly working in  "The role of Michael Corinthos is now being played by Rory Gibson."

-- No, Kai and Portia and Curtis, Trina and Joss were not "the best performance of the night." We all saw Gio on his violin.

-- I don't know why I should care what Joss thinks of the Gio situation.

-- Overall, a great week by GH.

I don't think so.  But it works so I can't complain.

Correct.  All of these men (except Rory at this point) have proven their talent so there isn't any bias or drama here.

Welcome, Rory Gibson!

Now, please give Michael his balls back 🙏🙏

I hope Michael is written as enough of a villain to go head to head not only with Drew, but with Sonny and Carly as well. I mean, not for nothing, it technically is Sonny's fault that he almost died... again. And I hope that the fact that he took Wiley and left the ball without saying a word to anybody means that that's going to happen.

Speaking of Sonny, making the fallout from the Gio reveal all about him was not a good idea, grandfather or not. Out of every character involved in those scenes today, Ned was the one who stood out to me the most. Wally did a pretty good job.

Btw, what was that nonsense that Kai was spewing out? We all knew who really was the best performer at the Nurses Ball this year. But I do have to admit, I really liked the final act though 😊😊

And, I love Lucas and Elizabeth's relationship too. Plus, he looked really good in that tux 😍

Same. If he is going to recovered from burns this fast...he could at least be darker.

I agree -- Wally Kurth was good in the brief moments they gave him. So was Lisa LoCicero. I'm glad the writers remembered that Ned matters here.

As much as I appreciated today's episode, I also think Gio should have had scenes beyond the replay of the reveal scene. Cutting just the scenes of Joss discussing Gio would've opened up some time.
