Paula and Jeanne’s first time writing Alex and Stephanie.

It didn’t seem like there were any changes in Alex at all lol but I can’t help  but think that that’s more on RSW than the writing. I didn’t see a big change with Stephanie either, but I did enjoy her scenes with Kayla, whose character has gotten so much stronger since last week. I hope we get to see a lot more of their relationship, and their relationship with Steve as well. As for Steve and Shawn stealing the drug to try to save Bo, idk. I don’t dislike it, but I just don’t know lol but I also think that it is time for Steve to pass the torch on to the next hero.

And finally, Javi showed some kind of spark! I was a little worried in his first scene today that he was going to continue to be so obsessed with Leo, but him demanding that Leo drop the investigation into Rafe and Gabi could actually be pretty interesting. I don’t think that would’ve happened under Ron. And if we’re forced to endure Javi/Leo, let them at least have some kind of actual conflict, instead of the forced, biased crap that we were subjected to. And speaking of Leo, one year ago today, he got Dimitri’s letter 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Btw, why is Gabi so beholden to Javi? Cousin or not, if I was her, the minute he said to her, “If he goes, I go”, I would’ve been like

Fuck Outta Here No Way GIF by Desus & Mero
😂😂😂

Also, are they going to go there with Philip and Gabi? I’d prefer that than Gabi getting involved with Alex.

Loving the show these days, one week into the post Ron era and I am feeling the difference.

First off, thrilled to see Steve and Kayla together, and with their daughter. Ron never cared about this legacy couple. Shawn asking Steve to help him steal the drug is very much, finally, in character, for Bo's son. Bo would absolutely do the same thing. I am excited about this whole story, and now Xander is clearly in the mix. Will Titan provide the resources to help Kayla synthesize the drug, save Bo, and then take credit?

Leo was not too bad today but he is still obnoxious. Gabi and Philip though... now that has more spark than she has ever had with dull JJ. Here for this! Especially since it seems he gets to keep his stolen Co CEO job (and honestly, he should, Victor would want him at Titan. I think the solution is Xander gets Titan and Philip gets Dimera).  I liked Xander and Alex too, it is good to see them working together after the whole mess up last year with their names.

Stephanie's book was an odd thing. Guess Alex will try to get it published with or without her permission. Kind of rude to just walk off with it.

Stephanie writing a novel is odd.  She's never seemed interested in writing or much of a creative type.  Is One Stormy Night a nod to the primetime Days episode from the early 90's?  That would literally have nothing to do with Stephanie, nor were any of the characters featured in that special closely related to her IIRC.  Although One Stormy Night isn't a super creative title or anything, so it's probably just a coincidence.

And, yes, it was very rude for Alex to just take Stephanie's personal, private writing without asking lol.

As a PR person, she's undoubtedly written zillions of press releases and presentations, so I don't find it that much of a stretch. But it sure did come out of nowhere. I don't know if any soap has done particularly well with a book plot, though, so I'm apprehensive of where this will go.

The throwback, and the randomness of it all has me worried that Jamey had something to do with it.

I have not been convinced any Stephanie since Shayna Rose can read.

One Stormy Night was the name of the January 1992 Days primetime episode.

From jason47 bio of Jeanne Marie Ford:
when I was in high school, my best friend got me hooked on 'Days.'
She first worked on the "Days" staff in 1992 as an unpaid intern and soon after became the show's writer's assistant from 1992-1996.

Possibly.  I remember the "movie" being Jack/Jen, Bo/Carly, and John/Isabella centric.  I am assuming they are just recreating the idea of people/couples being brought together in a storm, which isn't very creative in the first place.  One Stormy Night was the worst of the 3 primetime movies too.

Lol.  Fair.  Writing some press releases for her the two clients she has does not mean she can write what looked to be a 500 page novel.

Stephanie spends 20 hours a day figuring out her love life anyway.

Good point about her doing different kinds of writing quite a lot & often.

OLTL had success with a book plot, I think, Marcy wrote it. Possibly it was at a time when Michael Malone was HW there as he was a very successful novelist & also Professor of Lit at a small college.

And, of course, AW had Felicia Gallant as a very successful romance author & Mac's business empire was Cory Publishing.

I wonder if this won't be more like Katie on ATWT writing Oakdale Confidential, though. Sheer spec as I have zero clue what their plan is.

Even though Ron is gone, the last thing we need is another Body&Soul 😂

We didn't even need the first one to begin with.

Correct.

At least they aren't recreating "Night Sins".  We'd end up with Alex and Gabi or some odd couple recreating John/Marlena's conference table sex. 😂

Hopefully, Paula/Jeanne have changed that too (if Ron was going there with Alex/Gabi) and continue to explore Gabi/Philip

Gabi doesn’t need to become just another notch on Alex’s bedpost
