I don't trust Leskie. Why celebrate it today though? I could see if we're going to be busy or out of town during her birthday.

I'm an old time soap fan, so I love core families. The Duprees must be the biggest core family in the history of daytime.  And I may be wrong, but it seems every living member of the family is on the show together now.  Have there been any mentions of living family members who are off the canvas? It's very unusual not to have a few family member off the canvas who can join the show later. Interesting.

Nope. I wanted there to be some too! There's still time because we don't know too much about Vernon and Anita's families. They could have siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews show up.

The Duprees are a big family, I am sure one of the Historians around here could let us know if they are the largest in Daytime.

Up until now, I think the Horton's were the biggest core family in daytime, but the Hortons never had this many family members on the show concurrently.  All the others -- Hughes, Ryan, Bauer, Matthews, Martin, Cory were smaller families than the Hortons and certainly smaller than the Duprees.

Here's another question: Have Anita and Vernon actually and literally said in the script that Dani and Nicole are their only children?  Or are we just assuming that, because no others have been mentioned?  I'm really not hoping for an illegitimate kid to come out of the woodwork.  But I would prefer Anita and Vernon having more offspring, perhaps just not mentioned yet.

I believe you're right about the Hortons.

I wanna say in Epi. 1/2 when Vernon and Anita discussed their love story they said “And we had two beautiful daughters”, I could be wrong though, I will have to rewatch those scenes. I would like for them to have more offspring as well, but only if it makes sense. 

Anything is possible at the moment.

They're not the same age though. Fridays show established that bit of timeline.

 

I mean she explained it; it was to cheer Eva up. Why would she lie all her life about her bday being 2 weeks later than it actually was? Thats not even a significant enough difference to even matter for any timeline

 

At the very least they dont have any other children together but there is the chance that he could have kids prior to her. OR they could have an estranged child that was so disgraced that he was disowned that they rather not talk about

Seems like Hayley was trying to feel Bill out about having a baby as opposed to her actually thinking she's pregnant. The conversation was very manipulative.

Kat is very elitist and that overshadows her legitimate suspicions about Eva. From the start she talked about Eva's clothes.

Naomi is a fool for withdrawing from the case. After she pushed her clients to press forward she is now dropping them.

Depends on how long the affair between Dana and Ted was.

She did explain it. However, I still find it interesting that both got some sort of party today. What is the coincidence? There has to be a reason for that by the writers, or is it just a red herring of sorts to make our minds wonder? Or I am looking too deeply LOL.

If Leslie did kidnap Eva that doesn't necessarily mean she knows her actual date of birth though. I believe TPTB could come up with plenty of reasons to make the scenario work. 

On the bright side, Leslie throwing Eva a party just to cheer her up was thoughtful!

 

@Tisy-Lish I also remember a scene between Dani and Nicole where Dani says You're my only sister“ So if there is more children they probably aren't aware of them.

Yep. It’s also making Eva a hell of a lot more sympathetic of a character in this budding feud (in addition to the Eva actress just being a stronger and more charismatic actress). Eva is the underdog and Kat is the mean rich b!tch who thinks she’s better than the girls from across town. That part drowns out her legitimate concerns about Eva. 

It will be a huge kick in the gut to her if she finds out that Eva is actually Ted and Nicole’s biological child, if they do decide to go down that route.

That was the smartest thing she’s done all month. Them women are idiots that need to be babysat and we’re about to jeopardize Naomi’s credibility with how wish was they are. Also it’s a clear conflict of interest and she never should have been the lawyer rep  representing them; it should have been another lawyer at her firm

This story has/had the potential to be very nuanced and not so cut and dry.

All three women have proven to not be very bright so I'm betting that the performance reviews all three received at work were legit, but because slimy Mike had harassed all three women.. they have a case.

The ironic thing is that Hayley might actually have deserved the promotion, but because of the actions of Mike and also her having an affair with Bill.. that is called into question.   

There have a few instances where Hayley has displayed skills that would make one a good paralegal.  She's detail oriented (she figured out Dani had broken into their house), she's rightly questioned certain statements from Bill, had a few good points in her interactions with Naomi, and today's pregnancy talk was in an area where she's manipulating him.. but also be upfront/pro-active. 

Maybe they'll be a twist and Bill won't let her opt out of the case because of his pride and wanting to go up against the best.

 

In regards to todays episode:

Today was a character development day, and Danielle Paige is settling in nicely as a soap opera script writer.  

The ironic thing about Kat/Tomas is that they might not be a long term couple because of her persona/looking down on Eva.. not because of anything Eva is doing to them.

Dana is still the breakout character..imho.

I really think its as simple as it was presented. Leslie wanted to lift Eva bc she was having a bad day and to makeup for upsetting her earlier. The fact is her birthday this year is going to be awful as it will happen after the paternity reveal so she wanted to give her a happy memory before she blows things up

-- I have no problem with product placement, but that Febreze insert was awful and went on too long. Subtle is better, and that was getting hit on the head with a hammer.

-- so Tomas bought Kat a calculator necklace. Sorry, boy got no game. A guy who wears a big, gaudy ring on his index finger should know better.

--  Naomi is moving into "terrible lawyer" category. Now she wants to withdraw? I don't care how dumb her clients are, she's not doing them right. She should also make far fewer visits to her father's office.

-- The party scenes were good, although I hope we eventually get words of wisdom from Vernon that don't come with a story about his activist days.

-- Kat was rude to Eva, but Naomi was crazy to tell Eva to stay for cake. That's pretty damn clueless. And even if Kat goes overboard with the mean girl stuff, it's not like she's not right about Eva.
