A few things ... 

Has anyone started lists, like, people with guns, people without alibis and people with motive?

It seemed to me that Belle was better looking, sexier, more alluring when she wore that wire. 

Also I thought EJ's accent got thicker the past 3 days & his pretensions, boy, they were moreso than ever. Of course, it was not lost on me that he was totally alone, alienated from literally everyone & the only thing he had to talk to was that damned portrait. Now, it's easy to say, "Served him right!" and it did.

I was thinking he could lie there in his blood for a long time but then Chad arrived, however, why?

Last but certainly not least, why didn't Ron write this way all along?

Johnny was talking about hating his father & Josh/Roman said, "I know that feeling." Why would Roman have felt hatred for his father?

I doubt he cared; maybe it's why he was "immediately" replaced as head writer, and it's the one story that pushed the "EJECT" button.

It’s scientifically impossible for the writers to have traveled back in time and read my post from yesterday—but imagine my shock when EJ actually referred to his son as *Giovanni*.  

Kate took quite the logical leap, assuming EJ would resort to a hit-and-run over Rex. That’s never really been his style.  

@AbcNbc247 , I have a sneaking suspicion that today’s shooting is just the tip of the iceberg. Something tells me there’s a much bigger surprise on the horizon.  

On a lighter note, Chad’s jacket? Absolute perfection. Still not listed on WornOnTV, but I *need* it.  

Meanwhile, Cat continues to feel like she wandered onto the wrong set, and Kayla—a *senior* doctor, mind you—is somehow stuck pulling 36-hour shifts? That was a dumb bit of detail, I assume to disqualify her as a suspect, but I never thought she was a suspect.

Why didn't Ava give Melinda back her gun?  Otherwise, didn't she make trouble for her friend?  Because when the cops find the gun, they'll suspect Melinda, and she'll have no proof that she lent it to Ava.

And just for fun, let’s take stock: Salem has collectively forgiven Cat, Ava, Philip, and Gabi for all manner of violent misdeeds, yet Theresa remains persona non grata for a little light forgery and resulting in a fortune for Alex? Consistency is clearly not this town’s strong suit.

My number one suspect is that Rachel Black shot EJ, hence the upcoming recast. This story has been fun to watch and Chad finding him was a nice unexpected surprise for me.

One suspects Standards & Practices would never allow them to actually film a child shooting an adult—but wouldn’t it make a deliciously twisted revenge arc if lil' Rachel were the one to shoot EJ with Melinda's gun?

I’ve also been puzzling over why Roman had his gun in his back pocket—until I considered that it may be the very thing that clears Roman, Kate, and Johnny.

(Speculation ahead, I know no spoilers)

My guess? Down the line, we’ll find out Kate and Roman talked Johnny out of shooting EJ, and Roman took the gun back afterward.

What I don’t want is the inevitable “Chanel suspects Johnny” beat, followed by Johnny getting huffy and hurt. Especially after that knife-fondling moment during his argument with EJ. These two deserve to stick together through a trauma for once, not spiral into unnecessary drama.

And while we’re at it, here’s hoping we’re spared the tired old “EJ gets amnesia from the memory erasing drug” trope just to absolve him of whatever happened to Arnold and ol' Rachel.

Lastly, a crackpot theory for your consideration: With the backstage shakeups and the exodus of Joy, Theresa, Ava, and Rachel, maybe the ever-growing suspect list is a narrative sleight of hand. What if EJ’s shooting is just a shiny distraction to cover the sudden vanishing acts as part of a bigger transition? Just something to keep in mind as the gears shift...

Could the killer be old lady Rita, who EJ hired to keep track of Rafe, etc.?

That would be so sad, Rita was the only one left that liked EJ.

Annnddddd this is why I said that they should’ve dragged out the EJ storyline for the whole week. EJ being shot would’ve been the perfect Friday cliffhanger as opposed to what we got today. There was barely a hook to get people to tune in on Monday. And at only 32 minutes, was today a Jamey episode? 

And of course we couldn’t go a week without precious Leo 🤮🤮🤮

Why was Gabi even giving this waste of life the time of day? There are plenty of other people in Salem that she could’ve spoken to. 

But at least Javi was out of that annoying, toxic bubble that’s he now stuck in with Leo. For a little while anyway lol and he looked hot too. Also, Rafe was actually (a little) tolerable in his scenes with him today. I preferred Shawn’s scenes with Jada though. I liked that he was there for her. And that we got an added dynamic to the Who Shot EJ mystery. 

Cat comforting Chad was nice too. 

Today's show was boring.

How did the police not find the wire Rafe planted at the Dimeras? Talk about terrible detective work.

EJ shooting didn't move the needle. It's still stuck at #8 just ahead of Three's Company rerun episodes.

When does Carlivati material finally end? I'm assuming the new writers will follow his outline as to who the killer is without unfortunately not changing/fixing it?

Javi, hot? I don't get it. Guess it's just not a look I could admire. But, he is a more than decent talk-to. He was really good trying to get through Rafe's thick skull.

So, now, People with Guns: Ava, Johnny, Gabi, Rafe, JJ, Shawn, Jada & Kristen. Although notably Jada's gun is MIA. 

People without alibis:

Rafe said he went out to get beer, but Javi said they'd had beer there in the fridge to which Rafe replied that he guessed he hadn't seen it.

Kristen took a shower & was blow-drying her hair.

Jada was getting very drunk & had her phone turned off.

Ava has suddenly left town.

Johnny said he went for a walk after he left his Granpa Roman's pub.

Gabi, who the hell knows where she was, maybe this whole time wandering in the Square

Before he was shot, we saw both Ava & Kate outside, somewhere.
