Members Soaplovers
Plastic surgery and botox should be a no no when starring in a soap opera because the medium depends on your face and the soap opera expressions. If you're nipped, or botoxed, within an inch of your life... it's going to be painful when doing any sort of acting. It was painful seeing Roman and Patch attempt to act sad/heartbroken over what is happening with Bo. For some reason, I don't mind when Diedre attempts to act because she uses her voice to convey emotion... and she's very good at using her voice to convey sadness/longing/happiness/sarcasm. Seeing her hopeful face when talking about John made me sad because we all know how devasted/sad she's going to be. With that said, Marlena is at her best when she's in therapist mode and she displayed that in fine form with her grandson today. It gives me hope that the new regime understands what makes Marlena/Doc tick and that she'll be in good hands. The high school/teen scene is kinda cringe and it makes me really wish that we can go back to the old days when the teens were only featured in the summer. I'm hoping Jada/Shawn will be a nice slow burn. The chemistry was so apparent today and I loved that their 1:1 scene with one another was long and not cut up into three shorter scenes. I was wondering last week if Patch/Jada have a bond and I was glad to have that answered today. Learning today that Johnny just found out about how he was conceived makes me side with him more than ever once he has the talk with Chanel about his reservations about adopting the baby. I'm sure fans, and writers, will probably paint him as a misogynist since that's been the trend in the 2020s (which is a form of misandry).. but I will reserve my judgement until I see the conversation between the two play out.
Members j swift
I promise that I try to put reality aside, but the magic pill is a cure for Sepsis?1? You couldn't make a universal treatment for Sepsis because it affects every single person differently. And you couldn't do animal trials on a treatment for Sepsis. And, doctors don't own experimental treatments being cooked up in university lab centers (the school does, and they're very clear about that). It is such a dumb writer's choice. Somebody get these people an internet connection so that they can google. On a side note: we were discussing similar names last week -- how about Claire, Ciara, and Chelsea? They're all around the same age story-wise, and they're all connected to Brady's. But, hard to tell apart by name only. And it feels like there should be a foreshadowing sound effect every time someone mentions Please register in order to view this content Ding! Members AbcNbc247
Poor Javi doesn't even have his own character Please register in order to view this content Hopefully, Paula/Jeanne rectify that. Agreed. Literally, the only time I saw some kind of spark with her portrayal was that day that she ran into Doug III in the Square.
Members Paul Raven
Well that pretty much eliminates 90% of the cast of the legacy soaps.
Administrator Toups Posted 14 hours ago Author Administrator Share Posted 14 hours ago Great scenes today with Jada/Shawn. Shawn talking about his guilt and Jada talking about her father, and Jada mentioning how being in Salem was right for her because of the people who cared for her father, and then running into Steve. I'm totally on board with Jada/Shawn pairing now. Johnny confiding in Marlena was good too. Another great character driven episode. Back-to-back!
Members ranger1rg
-- Another good episode. You cannot tell me the Head Writer doesn't make a difference. We've gone from campy to mature inside of a week. -- The Shawn/Jada scenes stole the episode. Really good stuff from both actors. -- Marlena in therapist mode just works. Never fails. -- Chanel walking into the high school like that made me LOL. No security, and she was able to find Tate and Sophia on her own and in a minute. OK then. OF course, they were also able to have an extended conversation. Don't these kids have classes to get to? And I'm not a fan of NuSophia either. Pale imitation. -- The sepsis diagnosis and possible miracle cure is ridiculous, but typical DAYS. And don't get me started with a broke ass hospital having bachelor auctions working on the cure. I think they're using the same Google Machine that they use for establishing shots. Today we got shots of the high school and of Paulina's high rise that were...special. Gotta love it that Steve and Kayla were so distraught over Bo's diagnosis that they went out for ice cream.
Members j swift
Besides Johnny, are there any other SORASed kids in town that Bo hasn't met? Obviously, there are a lot of new people in Salem. But, I'm wondering if there are any new Brady's? I assume he doesn't know Ciara had kids, or Roman and Kate got married. I think he knows Kayla's a doctor. And, it kind of sucks that there's a magic cure for him, but Kim is still sick in LA. I'm really just focused on the Brady news that he'll need to catch up with (if he survives).
Members brisbydog
I'm more interested in Bo tangling with his two Kiriakis brothers. That could be fun.
Members AbcNbc247
So, Doug III didn’t get the job at the Bistro. But I’m glad that Holly was finally featured in Tate and Sophia’s storyline today. I also think that Sophia was trying to be a shady bitch today to Holly when she revealed that Tate asked her to the prom. I didn’t mind it but I also think that the way that Rachel Boyd played it didn’t help all that much either. Philip finding out about Doug III hiding out at Maggie’s, and Doug III still owing money could be interesting though. Btw, if Doug III is so broke, who’s paying for his cell phone? Please register in order to view this content Maggie was used very well today too. I like that she was there to rip Philip a new one and to comfort Julie about Doug III. And I couldn’t help but chuckle a little bit when Maggie brought up Julie stealing the mink stole. Is there even a comparison between that and what Doug III did? But Johnny/Chanel was the best part of today, and I totally expected that. There was such realistic dialogue and emotion throughout all of their scenes. I felt so bad for the both of them, especially because both of their POV’s make perfect sense to me. And again, I think we have some Emmy reels for both Carson and Raven. They both played the heartbreak and devastation so well. I can’t wait to see what happens next for the two of them. I love how Johnny’s conception/EJ’s shooting has had such a ripple effect across the canvas. This is how Days should always be. And the fact that it’s being handled by different writers who are giving us a fresh take on everything makes this even better.
Members janea4old
jswift asked what Brady family news/offspring Bo might not know yet? Bo's daughter Chelsea is still with Bo's brother Max in London, and they have a son Isaac. Bo's brother Frankie was discovered to have a biological cousin Dimitri. Does Bo know that Shawn-D's daughter Claire lives in South Africa? Roman's offspring: Carrie and Austin live in Switzerland with their son Noah, who has never been seen onscreen. Caustin broke up at one point, don't know if they reconciled? Sami's daughter Allie has a son Henry and she lives with him out of town (with Will&Sonny last I heard?). Eric and Nicole live in Paris with their son Jude. Rex lives in Chicago and he co-parents daughter Emily with Mimi. Cassie was mentioned on March 18 as living in Chicago Kim's offspring: Andrew is with Paul Theresa's son Tate - has Bo ever met him? edit: I am admittedly behind on things. Last I heard, Andrew and Paul were engaged. Have they married yet, and was it onscreen? Edit again: Does Bo know that Ciara's husband Ben killed Eve's daughter Paige? Members Contessa Donatella
Bo probably knows that Claire who works with or for Theo is in South Africa. You might recall that she was first there a very long time ago, then she was back in Salem but did not move back just there for a very long visit after which she returned to her home in South Africa. Also likely knows about Chelsea, Carrie, Max & Frankie, then everything comes into doubt, I would say.
