Exactly this. The Cassadines stole Ava’s divorce settlement. And then Kristina terrorized and threatened her. They deserve whatever hell Ava rains down on them, and worse. Sonny too.

Since it's leaving my system today, I went ahead and watched the anniversary episode.

I remember seeing some comments over it since I had stopped regularly viewing by this point. And now that I think about it, I might want to see the rest of the fallout from the Liz/Ric car crash cuz...LIZ...but outside of the historical moments...I didn't really feel anything...which has been unusual for GH anniversary episodes. I seem...dare I say it...half-baked.

We got a flashback for Lucy and her many dresses at the Nurses Ball, but no other flashbacks. We get a mention of Lesley and Monica and no flashbacks. Mentions of other legacy characters, but no flashback...but we can focus on shoehorning in the favor of the month. Or on Sonny propping. I did love the Tracy/Stella scene.

Which is a shame. I liked the idea behind it (dedicating a wing to Monica). I really loved seeing the recurring nurses because I liked both and wished they were in story more often. At least I got to see a lot of vets (hey, Mac, hey! and Anna looked really good), but that was more bad than good. And I expected more. But it wasn't an Elizabeth episode so...*shrugs*

Oooo now that I love.

I'm happy to at least hear this. Ava didn't deserve to look her money in the first place. And I haaaate the 'Ava is Broke' storyline.

I agree. I wasn't crazy about those episodes when they aired, and looking back, they seem ever worse. Nothing special went on at all.

They summed up the entire mess with that plaque GH put up for Monica. Her face was so small on the plaque photo that I had to squint to see it.

I can see why people had issues with it. It felt like two different ideas trying to get out. And since those two ideas did not mesh well already, it was a mess.

Summed up perfectly by an event for a legacy character that everyone cared about being gimmicky overshadowed (and propped by another legacy character in order to get the audience on a specific side) by someone that had NOTHING to do with the themes/drives of the episode.

He'll probably turn out to be an ecoterrorist who holds Emma and Joss hostage in a few months, but for now I'm enjoying Daniel Goddard's professor character. As a college professor myself, I was on his side immediately when I saw his bemused reaction to Joss. We've all been there with the student who misses the first three weeks of class then confidently tells us that she's sure she can catch up.

English and Communications. Sadly I haven't gotten to teach a course in Television Studies yet, but I have gotten to direct several senior theses on TV. I've got a student right now who's writing on the representation of food and eating on Gilmore Girls

Back to GH, has Nurse Amy always been so annoying and cartoonish? I've been cringing through her scenes this week, especially knowing that she's the show's only representation of a plus-size woman.

I remember Shell Kepler's character Amy Vining fondly, but she always seemed like a real person, even as she was being used as a plot device to spread gossip around the hospital. These were often fairly comic scenes, but Amy Vining was rarely the object of ridicule like her namesake Amy Driscoll was this week.

This version of Amy is apparently written by people who heard of Amy Vining but who never saw any of her actual scenes.

-- Diane's wigs continue to be hilarious.

-- Mo continues to struggle like effing crazy with his dialogue. So what's the GH answer? Put him on the air every day.

-- Anna's defense of Sonny being friends with Laura continues to be a complete embarrassment.

-- Laura is just as pathetic for her continued "friendship" with the town's murderous mob boss.

    • I'm going to be so sad when she's written out or leaves. I know characters like this have an expiration date or just come and go often, but I really think she's been an incredible asset to this freshly launched soap. You would think she's been doing soaps for decades, she's a real pro.
    • Agree that this was a great week that brought some much-needed payoff to storylines that have been building for months. I'm just not sure about the comparison with Guza. I think if he were writing the show right now, the big sweeps event would be probably something like Daniel Goddard's Environmental Physics professor setting off a bomb at the Nurses' Ball and the rest of the cast getting caught in the carnage.

    • I don’t know either But having some random junkie extra be a part of John’s death, and Orpheus still being alive doesn’t feel right  I have no problem with the age gap, but I admit I do kind of side eye the high school element. I mean, when they hooked up 21 year old Casey Moss with 53 year old Kassie DePaiva, I had no problem, but this…

    • Trisha Mann-Grant is so so good. I can’t believe I’ve never seen her in something before.
    • When watching the clip of Michael returning I wonder if the announcer set a record for fastest "the role of..." I've never really connected to any of LLC's characters in her soap career, but I will give her credit for always knowing how to make a reaction and scene count. She did when Gio stormed out of the room, and her reaction to Michael returning and walking off with Miley, even in the background of a scene, was great.  (and how is today the day I just realized Lisa is married to Michael Patrick Jann, of The State fame).
