One of the "Stunt: Recast Reveal" video clips that I have is the Russian version of going from Terry Lester to Gordon Thompson. Dash punches Mason & he goes down. When he comes up it's Gordon instead of Terry. (Who was the one who went down) I enjoy all of these fun clips but one of my favorite things about this one is Julia being dubbed in Russian.

But I'll agree with him that the stories he got (Sasha in a freezer!) did suck, so I get why he decided to leave.

TBF, there used to be a time when US soaps did that. DAYS was praised for its ability to do so in the 90s with people who were debatably just as good as their actor who came before.

Ted currently looks like an older version of them. A ommon mistake in the first week was people getting him confused with them. If age is why you dont think they look alike, well the new actors is older and looks it. He and the ones that play Jacob and Andrew do not look th same age

yeah to me at least, he looks like he could be their uncle and not much to confuse here

I feel for Jen Jacob because she's an undeniably good actress who has multiple examples of her doing good work. I feel like she's trying as hard as she can and is successful with anybody except Derek but because the majority of her scenes are with Derek she's being dragged down by him.

In order to make Derek work you'd have to have someone like a younger Heather Tom or Sarah Brown who can pull something out of you be the sheer force of their talent. I don't think she's in a fair situation as long as she has to work with him.

Keith might have been a preferred choice who initially declined but changed his mind after it was clear the show was happening and looked promising.

If you look at RKK as Sam Fowler on AW & then at the entire rest of his life, you may think, Huh? What happened? And, DAYS was so concerned about a recast Bo that they had a makeover done on RKK to make him look as much like Peter Reckell did at that moment, as possible. Then, that turned into the look RKK has worn for the whole rest of his life.

I see it. The more comfortable she has grown in the role, it's clear she's a good actress. She even reminds me of a friend of mine with her acting. I do feel she's been lumped in with the actor who plays Derek. And even with that, I feel he's (too slow) growing into his role. In fact, he screams 'actor who is only good if he is playing psycho a la RSW on DAYS' to me. Or any actor or actress who can't play a good character because they come across as bland/boring but give them crazy/evil and they bloom. That's what my instinct tells me at least.

I was more thinking of the cases for Kate Roberts and Billie Reed where they both had periods of time off canvas between recasts. And I think Austin was the only 'sudden' recast in that period of major character recasts. But it's been a loooong time since I thought about it, but remember it discussed in SOD. I want to say it even made the BEST&WORST that year. I could be wrong.

I was not watching regularly during RKK taking over for Bo and Peter Reckell reclaiming the role so I cannot speak on that too much.

See? This is the first picture I've seen that is giving Ted to me.

This makes me sad to hear. He's asking the audience to help in bringing him back. I wonder if the Twitter bunch is going to petition it? I would certainly join in to help the one and only Teddy Bear.

Yeah he's retweeting a variety of comments.
That fits his pattern in that, during the past month he has frequently retweeted viewer comments about the show and about Ted, regardless of whatever opinions/likes/dislikes the viewers had about what the character Ted was doing.

I believe there was sufficient time in between last Reckell & first RKK. It was 2 months. They did the makeover as I mentioned & then the recast reveal was at a fancy dress masked ball that Vivian Allamain threw & then RKK was considered one of the most successful recasts.

The problem with NO TIME in between is obvious because it's jarring.

Im fine with the recast. I hate to see one so soon but it may be for the best its happening so soon. Keith IS a stronger actor so this isnt the worse decisioni

    • Some of those 1988-ish episodes are up. I'm not really sure she did much else. I think I recall something along the lines of she and Rusty had been suspended over the investigation of Nicky, George's supplier. I'm not sure she even gets some kind of goodbye. I think she just disappeared when Pam Long returned.
    • I did not care, just clarifying that was the discussion point. If there are ice cream bars in Statesville I am sure there is a full spa
    • Seeing Peter Bergman (Jack) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) act opposite each other really makes me mad that their short-lived reunion in 2012 was just that... short-lived. I've always loved the Jack/Nikki pairing.
    • No.  I recall there was also a mention about how distracting it was EOB's Gwen wasn't wearing nail polish as well.  That it was someone's pet peeve. And, yes, the fact characters can have a manicure in prison is the wildest continuity issue here.
    • Can anyone remember Mary Ellen Stuart's run as Jenny? I'm trying to fill in the cracks for missing stuff that we overlooked.  Bulletpoints:  * Dated Ross * Rusty's police partner * Directly responsible for Dinah coming forward about George Stewart (Cam's father)
    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton twirling his invisible moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
