Webmaster Errol Posted March 2 Webmaster Share Posted March 2 Although news of his exit from “General Hospital” was first announced in December, with his character being killed off after being injected with digitalis by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), actor Evan Hofer has now officially exited the daytime drama series with his name removed from the show’s contract cast list as shown at the end of the Friday, February 28 episode. The change in status comes as Hofer continued appearing on the series, often in flashbacks and mourning scenes involving Dex’s girlfriend, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), despite remaining a corpse. He most recently appeared in a flashback where Cyrus removed Dex’s hospital band while his body was in the General Hospital morgue. Making his daytime debut in the soap opera’s May 6, 2022 episode, Hofer’s name had appeared on the contract list between cast members Josh Kelly (Cody Bell) and Jane Elliot (Tracy Quartermaine). Earlier this week, the meet the cast page on the show’s official website was updated with the removal of former contract cast, including Hofer, Tajh Bellow (TJ Ashford), Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos), Charles Mesure (ex-Jack Brennan) and Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall). Despite being off contract, there’s no word yet on whether this is the last we have seen of Dex Heller in Port Charles. That said, it’s unlikely the character will be alive if he does return. Before joining “General Hospital,” Hofer made his onscreen debut in the 2010 film “Everyday Kid.” One year later, he began his run as Randy in the Disney XD original series “Kickin’ It.” His additional TV credits include appearances in episodes of “Modern Family,” “The Haunted Hathaways” and “Lethal Weapon,” among others. In 2018, Hofer co-starred in the film “Run the Race,” which followed two brothers in a small Southern town facing escalating problems with two different worldviews, straining – but ultimately strengthening – the bonds of brotherhood. The movie also starred Tanner Stine, Frances Fisher, Kristoffer Polaha, Mario Van Peebles and Mykelti Williamson, among others. From 2019-2021, he starred in the BYUtv series “Dwight in Shining Armor,” a modern take on what would happen if the middle ages came to middle America. Hofer played the role of Chlodwig, whose job is to train Dwight (Sloane Morgan Siegel) in knighthood. Members Liberty City
He was wasted at GH. Am hoping he finds other opportunities elsewhere where he is able to flourish.
Members AbcNbc247
Agreed. Leaving Dex/EH basically stuck in a bubble with the two worst characters on GH was a huge mistake. He proved, in so many scenes with other characters, that Dex could've been so much more than that. Edited March 2 by AbcNbc247
Members Liberty City
Exactly; it made me happy to see Patrick Mulcahey try and shake things up for Hofer's character, and then Elizabeth Korte/Chris Van Etten undid some of it, and then ultimately sacrifice the character.
