So far this week really feels like the show is settling in properly. I even enjoyed Martin's material now that's he showed his ass (and a damn fine one at that) to the grandparents. Plus, now Vernon has an inkling all is not well with Dani, and he uttered the infamous line about "Never keeping secrets" I reckon this is one thing he'll keep to himself much to his regret. Can you imagine how fantastic it'll be when Vernon and Anita have their first big bust up? I'll be sat!

I'll give it to her, Naomi is no coward for wanting to be there the moment Bill got served. I look forward for that confrontation tomorrow.

Another strong episode today, first one I’ve liked from RC and DP.

They really showed how in the weeds a lot of the characters are. Dani and her day drinking and needing stans to boost her head up, Bill dealing with his creep partner and missing his daughters, Martin and his ego and nightmares, Chelsea wanting to be free of Dani’s control of her career etc. They ripped the bandaid off of most of these by the end of the episode too which was a fun watch.

Vernon seems to be Dani’s biggest enabler. Him sitting with her to talk about Bill and Hayley while she’s about to drink first thing in the morning was sad. Especially when Anita joined him and told him Chelsea was about to crush the only thing he felt is making Dani act right. I’m glad Chelsea is finally telling her mother the truth.

Martin was so rude to Anita and Vernon, yeesh. I hope Smitty drags him now that he knows about the want to run for President

Naomi pulling up on Bill just as he receives notice of the sexual harassment lawsuit against his firm was the highlight of the episode for me. The actors have great onscreen chemistry as father and daughter adversaries. I hope we get a full out court room battle with this storyline.

Looking forward to tomorrow

It truly a shame some people in this country are against this. Pure diversity.

......but I digress. Naomi is upset with her father, but going against his lawfirm is way out there. I guess it's for the greater good.

Those two are really great together on screen.

A Ron C episode I actually enjoyed... miracles never cease.

Some of the dialogue between Anita and Vernon made me wonder if Martin is truly their son, or if the dialogue was too vague.  Anita's mini rant after finding out Martin was running for president was priceless and the final scene of Vernon/Anita taking a drink in silence said a lot.

Naomi vs Bill will be so good.  You could see in her eyes that she still does love her father, but she also is furious with him.

Nice to see a warm Anita/Chelsea scene, and that it showed a diversity in terms of how each grandchild has a different relationship with their grandparent.  I am curious to see how Anita/Kat would interact.. to be honest.

A nice understated cliffhanger with Bill figuring out Naomi is suing him, Chelsea finally telling Dani that she doesn't want to model, and Smitty confronting Martin.

Is it Wednesday already?

Perhaps there should be a Beyond the Gates hotness thread.

It looks like Wednesday's episode might be the clash of the Hamiltons: Naomi v Bill and Chelsea v Dani!

I really enjoyed today's episode. The legal story gives me Ally McBeal vibes, which I love. Mike Davis is a temu Richard Fish.

The Chelsea firing Dani story has been simmering for a month, if Dani has the freakout I expect, it could send Chelsea running to Bill for support and protection from her mother.

I misheard Smitty say that he wants to write a piece on #MeToo, the captions clarified that is not what he meant, but it made me think Smitty might be inspired by Ronan Farrow.

This has been Danielle Paige's strongest episode, the family interactions today reminded me of her best work on GL.

Let's also give Ron Carlivati his flowers!

I'm kidding, but at least this should allay fears that everything he touches will turn to ash.

I enjoyed today's episode. I am loving Bill (outside of his love for Hayley). I really do believe that he loves his daughters and wants to reconcile with them. I agree with those who say that he has good father/daughter chemistry with Naomi. I am rooting for them to make up at some point. Plus I think that Bill is sexy.

I would like to see Smitty be less passive and get more of backbone. He really does need to do something big for himself, like really be proactive about getting a job and getting back out in the workforce. I think it would be good/healthy for him.  I would like to see him using his journalism skills more. In the earlier episodes, it seemed like he was doing that a little bit, but he's been suppressed since then. I wonder what Martin's secret is and why Smitty isn't trying to find more about what is disturbing him.

I continue to enjoy Anita's bond with her granddaughters. She is so good and loving with them. I love how close knit the Dupree family is.

If this show was written by Bradley Bell... It would have been Anita stealing Bill from Dani probably. Thank God... Its MVJ.

    • Thanks. Just watched him perform "Smooth Criminal" at a Lakers game. OH.  MY.  GOD.
    • Because this is the same show where you can kill a federal agent and the FBI just shrugs their shoulders.
    • Giovanni Mazza has a lot of videos of him dancing/moving while playing the violin https://www.youtube.com/@GiovanniMazzaViolin/
    • I'm all in for another Gio performance. I assume his violin work was pre-recorded, but not only didn't I mind, he made it look live. Plus, wardrobe did him a solid -- he looked commanding and sexy -- and those moves around the stage were fire. If I sound like I'm in love with GM, you heard me right hehe
    • -- I was in my SUV and decided to listen to B&B today (I pulled my DVR downloads up on my phone) instead of watching it.     The dialogue is even worse when you go audio only. -- Hearing Brooke tell Ridge (in front of Katie) that he's her destiny makes her sound like a frickin lunatic. I mean, this is someone who should be put in a straitjacket. Of course, Katie agreed, and when Brooke left the room, she told Ridge that he and Katie belong together and always will. These people are certifiable. -- Liam's dialogue? Absolutely nothing special about it, which makes Scott Clifton's "performance" of those lines even worse. He delivers every line as if it's THE most important line in the Best Picture Oscar winner. Just awful.
    • Not a clue whatsoever. I’m not even sure if Patrick Mulcahey knew lol  Hopefully, we’ll see him do another one

Like for a concert at PCU or something
    • I felt the same way. Joss is insufferable -- self-righteous, sanctimonious, and entitled. I wanted Willow to knock her out. Do these writers know they're creating sympathy for Willow and Drew when they use characters we actively hate to answer them? The Gio performance was THE hottest violin performance I have ever seen. Great song choice with sexy, spectacular moves. I mean, WOW. That was soooo good. -- The "Holiday" performance with the medical workers all in scrubs was cheesy, but good. It was just professional enough to pass but not so good it looked like everyone was a hired dancer. And Isaiah can get it any time. -- Spinelli doing "These Boots are Made for Walking" was cringe. The excuse that he subbed for Tracy wasn't enough to make that watchable. Yes, he can carry a tune, but he's no singer and has no idea how to make lyrics work. In addition, his moves were like someone who never moved before. Hate to be a downer on this, but he was awful.
    • Looks like Thursday May 15 through Wed. May 21 (episodes 53-57) are all one "Fairmont day".  Still the same day as debut of nuTed.  Today Wednesday ends with everyone going to sleep, so I assume tomorrow Thurs. May 22 will be a new day. Edit to add: I guess I might watch all five episodes in a row, and hopefully the Ashley/Derek nonsense and the Joey nonsense -- will feel less annoying to me if it's only part of the long Fairmont day.  I will focus instead on Ted, Eva, Laura, Kat, Jacob, Leslie, Chelsea, and Doug/Vanessa.
    •   Thanks! so maybe blonde or maybe reddish-blonde, but hard to tell.
    • God, I wish Willow had punched that little whore right in the face. I get that GH wants to hate Drew and Willow but constantly trotting out the worst characters on the damn show to shame them doesn’t work and it never will. It just makes me want to do the exact opposite.  Luckily, Gio’s performance was immediately after that, and just as I expected, he killed it. He’s so talented and he had some really nice moves. And he looked good too

Btw, all the talk of Bensonhurst will never not be funny Lulu was annoying again though.  And Curtis, calm down dude lol
