 Taste.

Which I see you have with liking Jacob too with his nice onion.

But seriously lol, I'm not as down on Derek as everyone else cuz himbo (and will holler if he ever gets a scene that feels Ronn Moss coded), but I agree. A few more shirtless scenes wouldn't hurt.

LOL, you're very welcome. We all know that this hotness isn't my cup of tea but it doesn't keep me from having an opinion & I agree with the Mike Manning character (still hate that name)  & Andre & Jacob. And, I want someone to get rid of the sameness in facial hair!!!

Since we're starting a new week of BTG, I'm curious as to how most of you are consuming the soap. Are you watching live, recording and playing back later, or streaming? Also, are you watching daily or binging?

My plan was to watch the premiere live and maybe daily for the first week, but I expected to be binging on the weekends. However, so far I've been streaming daily once I get home from work.

I do wish Paramount would drop the episodes earlier in the day.

I work in Public Education (a school counselor at a high school) so unfortunately I am at work during the day when it airs live.  I do record it through Hulu Live and watch that day's episodes when I get home in the evenings.

I do hope that Ben Gavin will loosen up soon. Maybe it was the newness of the show or each of the daytime newbies trying to find themselves in their character, but he has been very wooden and shown no emotion these last several weeks.  I am wondering if we will see a darker Derek emerge after this concussion in the fire and his growing jealousy of Andre and Ashley.

Not wanting his picture taken for publicity makes me think he also has something to hide.  Maybe it will play out soon.

As for starving, yes we were.  Until now I felt like we have been on wash, rinse, repeat when it comes to daytime shows.  I hope this new energy in daytime will allow the other networks to either consider creating new shows or revive some of the cancelled ones.

I do agree they want to keep Dani in a gray area and all of this bouncing back and forth is maddening!!!!  My ideal for Dani is for her to find out who she is as a single woman, a mother, a sister and a career woman and to figure out how to live independenly.  She went from living with the support of her dad, to marrying Bill at 19 and giving up her dreams to be a wife and mom, so her whole adult life she has only known one thing... wife and motherhood. Her kids are grown and she is in that house alone.  I am sure it  an bring up her insecurities, but that is what is missing.  I may be the only one, but I want them to explore those insecurities in Dani... and let her come out stronger and more powerful.

I am in the minority, but I like the character of Ashley and do think Jen Jacobs (I think is the actresses name) has started to come out of her shell.  BUT I like her away from Derek and would like to see them flesh out the character more and develop her backstory.

Hmm, you've made me think of what my soap consumption has been of late.  DAYS is my traditional soap since I began watching it in 1970. And, no question it is bad. Produced too fast & too cheaply & both of those things show. Recently we've had some good times due almost entirely to Hayes&Hayes. I hold onto the strongest wish that SSH wins an Emmy for Best Supporting.  I also hope the Emmys will pay tribute to those we've lost: Bill, Wayne & Drake. GH I applaud for the good they have but am perpetually angry with them because they could be great & they just aren't.

Another great bit of fan review & critique of my girl, Dani! Thanks for this. I was in despair of Dani discussion here, the other day. A new day brings new talk!!!

Here, I agree with this.

I watch GH & BTG daily in a group via zoom. The room which we use all the time is named Jarly Daily Zoom & that is the commonality that we began to be a group around, GH Jarly fans. However, at different times we have people watch with us who are not Jarly fans. They are welcome as long as they don't do something stupid like insult Carly or Jason or their host Angela or promote something intolerable to the group like wanting the show to put Carly & Sonny back together as a couple. We are very tolerant of varying opinions except NOT that one. Our motto is "ABC" with regard to female companionship for Sonny it's Anyone But Carly. We watch & we talk about what we saw. There's about a dozen usually. Then half the group departs & the remaining 6 watch - and talk - BGT, with great enthusiasm. This is my first experience in group soap watching & I love it. Later I may do a rewatch alone, at home. Or I may do an edit of either show.

    • With all the changes Sunny was one of the longest running characters by that time.  She had never been married and had heaps of story potential. I can see America getting with SFT -you know 'the circus soap'. Smart move because circuses were all the rage with the kids in the 80's. Maybe Stu and Jo could have bought the circus.
    • It is actually pathetic, that Victor’s 50 year old children are still written as scared of this man that has to sit in every scene. I get it, EB has been on the show for almost 50 years, but I don’t care. He’s a man in his 80’s and should not be the damn lead and driving force because you don’t want to upset Eric Braeden ‘s fragile ego that only exists because the writers have cowtowed to this man for so long.
    • PREACH Victor being written as he was 20 years ago to support EB's ego or some misguided belief that what worked decades ago is still relevant is destroying the show. Victor comes off as a rambling old fool holding on to vendettas and a desperate need for perceived power. His children still cow-towing to him makes them look equally foolish. If the writing portrayed Victor as  more of an irritant to them then maybe it would work.
    • They desperately need another meeting spot that isn’t Orphy Genes or the Country club. Y&R is awful now but there’s at least GCAC, Crimson Lights, Society, and the Jazz room at GCAC to meet at. 4 places is definitely better than 2 and I can’t imagine these rich folks literally only eat at their damn country club.
    • I support all of this. 80 year old Victor reading lines off the table or teleprompter until it’s time to yell at someone and still being the main man driving story on the show is absolutely ridiculous to me and one of the biggest issues with the show. I respect Braeden for wanting to keep working in his old age is great and all, but WHY IS HE THE LEAD?
    • I believe they said 27 sets. We have not seen that many maybe around 20. Perhaps they meant they have space for that number. I would like to see another meeting place -maybe a restaurant that could fit in b/w Orphy's and the Country Club. Casual but classy. Jacob/Naomi need a living room and it would be good if Vern/Anita had a smaller study/library so they're not always in the same room. I guess budget plays a part. For example, maybe the plan is for Jacob/Naomi to get a home down the track when they become more prominent. I really hope that outdoor sets come into use. A terrace at the Country Club or a few shopfronts-a park maybe. Speculation re June. I would go with a Hayley connection as she needs something else to do apart from whining to Bill. June could  provide some conflict cos I don't see Bill being that interested in having her around. He could try to buy her off, upsetting Hayley or she could overhear/uncover some dirt on Bill so he's forced to keep her around. The parents of Tyrell/Samantha can be held for down the track along with the mystery of Andre's parents. The advantage of a new show is that there is so much from character's pasts that can be used. An ex for Vernon or Anita and various relatives to come out of the woodwork.
    • Oh god I haven’t gotten to that episode yet, you have to be [!@#$%^&*].ing kidding me. I will say to my surprise, the Danny actor no longer bothers me. He has actually improved quite a bit.
    • I hear what you are saying, but I feel there is definitely an opportunity for improvement. If the set problem is to remain, then the whole focus has to change. Business has to take a back seat if there are no sets available to support story. As I have said before return to Jabot and have a number of characters working and interacting there. They seem super reluctant to do it but Victor needs to be a more supporting character.  Eric Braeden seems determined to carry on and that is of course admirable, but keeping Victor as this dominating force has been detrimental. Have a sweet reunion of Sharon and Nick and marry them off for good. Bring on Faith and I'd even have Adamson back as Noah at this point to support Nick/Sharon in a parenting role. They really need to bite the bullet and drop one of the following -Billy, Chelsea, Phyllis or make them recurring like Abby/Ashley with appearances or short term stories when appropriate. Free up some space for new or returning characters- Noah, Allie, Fen, Moses, even a recast Dylan.
    • Today was really boring. I get we needed to have Martin accepting Eva but man I needed some Leslie today. Anita being hung up on was intriguing though.
    • Yup, that's John Mahoney, a few months before the star-studded 1986 production of The House of Blue Leaves. Also, God bless TPTB for thinking that a circus storyline was gonna grab the hearts and attention of viewers.
