The buzz from beyond the gates helped the other shows on CBS.

General Hospital is in trouble. They had a big week in secrets coming out, with Elizabeth and Lucky's confrontation with Cyrus, plus Cyrus being shot and killed, yet the ratings didn't move.

The Gates is likely to overtake General Hospital in the ratings soon.

The article says they're up in ratings??

I was referring to GH demos.

The increase in viewers must be from older females and males.

Wow, that's really good for just the 30 minute specials. Have to imagine the show itself will do better than the specials, either beating GH in its debut or overtaking it quickly. I feel bad for GH because they've been very good all week and they're the only show that's been trying.

This is pretty much around where I expected BTG to land. Didn't think it would beat its lead in and it will probably take around a year to build their audience if there is any chance.

If BTG overtakes GH in its first month and sticks there, ABC needs to make sweeping changes at GH. Frank Valentini and the writers need to be fired immediately.

I'll believe Frank can be fired when I see Donald Trump out of office.

How I feel as well. Perhaps overtake its lead in by say...end of summer at the earliest?

It's first week for will most likely be it's best week (on linear) for a few months, if not ever. Given that the infomercials for BTG got within 0.02 of GH in W18-49/25-54 it would be shocking if the first week doesn't beat it. Given the promotion, it wouldn't be a shock if week 1 beats B&B too.

Infomercials?😂

Promotion for the show helped draw viewers for the specials but it's still amazing that they got decent views with individual promotion. GH's producers are probably dreading seeing the ratings now that actual episodes of BTG have aired.
