Members DRW50
A part of me wonders if Ron might bring up Finn in hopes of easing a Michael Easton return. The Gio reveal seems to just be there for a possible Lulu/Brook Lyn/Dante/Chase quad (or more if she is still meant to be paired with Cody - is that ever going anywhere)? I think @Vee 's idea of Gio going off the rails with Q money and power is interesting. And I guess there could be drama if he gets involved in the mob world. I would mostly be interested if there is any fallout for Lois.

Members carolineg
Hope not about Easton. I would be more upset about having to see Violet again though tbh. I think the show is going to walk back a bit on the Lois fallout. It's already so wildly out of character I hope the show just moves it along and does the reveal. You know I said I wanted a Lois return for at least 25 years and now I just want to move on from this debacle and pretend it all didn't happen.
Members ranger1rg
As long as we admit that Gio going off the rails with Q money and power and getting involved in the mob world would be wildly out of character. There's nothing about Gio that says any of those things.
Members AbcNbc247
I don't think they're making fun. I think they're just trying to be funny but failing miserably Please register in order to view this content The way this storyline is being written is reminding of that whole My Fair Lady thing they tried to do with Lois. If anything, Gio going off the rails with Q money should make him like a playboy or something
Members DRW50
The whole thing with the mob on GH is so many enable it, including cops like Anna, I don't have a hard time believing characters could be drawn into it. The days of Karen and the strip club are gone, along with Jagger's corpse. I do think Dante might get upset though, and that would be a potentially interesting story. I don't think it would be out of character for a young guy who suddenly gets into big cash to start spiraling. Admittedly I am not sure what characterization Gio has anyway. I think Violet is a guarantee at some point. I don't want them to trash Lois, but I do think the chance is there to let Rena Sofer have a chance to act if they try. Anything with these characters feels scraped together to fill out episodes or because they had to scrap another storyline.
Members carolineg
I really, really hope seeing Violet again is not a given. At least recast the obnoxious, singing girl. I have no problem with finally giving Rena anything to do. This is just the worst possible story for her. BLQ could have been scared and not asked a lot of questions, but for an adult woman like Lois, who has always been known for her bluntness and honesty, it just feels off. At least bring Olivia in as a co-conspirator that was protecting her son too from the same future she faced.
Members John
I like Gio being BLQs I don't want Lois ruined for it
Members Vee
BLQ is aged up, boring and matronly enough with Setton in the role, and she should be fired and recast if this issue is not going to change. Giving her an adult kid desexualizes both Brook Lynn and Dante even more and ages them up too much when they are still relatively young, viable leads. But it's happened, unfortunately. I'd still undo it if I could. I have no interest in Gio in the mob. I do think him turning into a partying club kid/hedonist or playboy to lash out would work for a time. As for Finn, I would put nothing past Frank to try to get him and Violet back on the show lol.
Members Antoyne
Drew is really playing with fire here lying on Jason in his face to the cops. And Willow looks like an idiot because of course, poor Drew would never lie. How dumb do you have to be to not realize Jason would NEVER use Drew as an alibi unless he was actually with Drew. Willow likes to say she’s not being manipulated but my god she’s an idiot. She actually deserves to have all of this blow up in her face.

Members DRW50
I don't want Gio to be another Jason or to be all about the mob life, but when his grandfather is the mobster of all mobsters in GH-ville and his grandmother is a lifelong friend of mobsters, I think it's an inevitable part of his story to explore. He will also be dating a girl whose mother and grandmother are close friends with mobsters. I think it would be some good conflict for Dante as he would finally have to face a choice he mostly avoids, beyond some moments of doubt - he could forgive Sonny for almost killing him, but knowing his son could be killed at any time (even if he swore off mob life) may be another story. Of course all will be fine soon enough, because it's Sonny, everyone loves Sonny in the end, but it's one of the only beats I can see being played with giving Dante an adult son. I don't think Dante and Brook Lyn will be too desexualized by this reveal - I think Sonny and Carly were [!@#$%^&*] in limos when Morgan and Michael were older than Gio is now (although my memory of their grotty relationship isn't the best) - but I do think that Setton being so Pureflix adds a more somber atmosphere that the story didn't need. Members Vee
The only aspect of Gio and the mob I think would be a worthwhile angle to explore (and one Guza would absolutely do if he were here) is Sonny sort of sublimating his past failures/losses, etc. with Michael, Morgan and Dante and his need to produce a true heir onto his new grandson. Gio is basically a sweet summer child, an innocent and happy go lucky young man whose current persona largely coasts on Giovanni Mazza's very winning performances and chemistry with the cast where the writing fails him. I can see Sonny trying to groom him into the life (as he did Jason) and Dante and Lois, etc. reacting. That's the only angle I would pursue, but I would not make him part of the mob. Gio would turn away from that. I do think Gio going full Euphoria/Skins (or Danielle Manning, IYKYK) and becoming a drug-addled playboy or club kid when he realizes his entire life is a lie is something GM could also play. Nor would it go against his current energy onscreen, but I think Mazza has proven recently opposite Braedyn Bruner that he can do more. While that holds true soon, we'll see. Well, they were actually both still kids then IIRC but that was a very different time and a very different show. Sex and real stakes were still a major part of GH in those years - or even in the Carlivati years when the boys were adults, when both S&C had wild flings with Ava and A.J. The GH of today, since at least 2018-2020 if not earlier, is often thoroughly desexualized and seems highly avoidant of any edgy content. Brook Lynn is presented as lacking even the sex drive of Kelly McGillis' Amish mother in Witness. Edited February 27 by Vee
Members carolineg
Michael/Morgan were definitely younger. The original limo sex was to usher off Dylan Cash as Michael when he got shot in the head. I get your point though. Both Brook Lynn and Dante seem much older than their actual age. Dante was played as a sexy leading man once, but it doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Setton's BLQ was sexless upon arrival lol. It's also aging up Lois a lot. Olivia was a teen mom, so sure. But Lois was an adult when she had BLQ. It's ridiculous for her to have a full grown grandson. They should have honestly just given Lois an ex-husband* and Gio as her kid. *ETA upon further thought the ex-husband would have been Sidwell so NVM.
