I liked him BITD. And I respect that he made it to...and maintained his looks at 50 looking hot as sin. Made me think of that year that Sean Penn did the same thing to show off in that black see-through shirt...just because he could when he turned either 45 or 50 himself.

It took me a while to get used to CLB ditching the dye. Heck, I didn't even realize until people pointed it out. He still has his looks even now, but he was truly looking like a sneak wining and dining Lauren. And I was just giving credit where it was due. If anything, I'm jealous. lol.

Oh my God! Did that Giggly Heffa up and get her ass kidnapped? lol.

Well, this episode continued to prove the best thing about this show currently is the Damian storyline. You had Lily and Damian's first official meeting. You had Audra scheming...for the side of good this time hehe...with Holden to get Damian to go see his mother. And there was also those Nate/Amy scenes and Nate pulling strings to find a way to cure Amy and her wanting to be stoic. And of course, there was the end, classic cliffhanger and classic Y&R

So it was sad that I was disconnected from the C plot of the Giggly Heffa. I did like seeing Chance, but le sigh. So Summer is truly just over him. smh. And all I got out of those scenes (and the day before this) was that I don't like the mousy hair on AL. I love it when she has that beautiful lion mane of hers.

Meanwhile...could they be answering the audience (well at least here)'s prayer and creating a way for Amy to stay? I'm not against that. And I loved Amy showing more edge and Nate not minding. I also didn't mind the lingering camera of Nate walking over to the door to open it cuz DAY---UMM.

I definitely liked Lily and Damian. They had a good rhythm going on. Damian had that swagger. And Lily had some sass about her. But overall, I definitely see that potential.

Why do I feel like Holden is toying with Audra? She might want to watch out.

The Damian/Nate story is interesting because it is something FRESH.

Seeing Sharon kidnapped again, Victor going after Jack, Adam/Chelsea etc is just variations on what has occurred over decades with these characters.

It's hard to come up with new angles for vet characters but Josh makes no effort.

If it worked in 85, 95, 05 and 2015  it'll work again! now seems to be his mantra.

Very. AND an attractive black man with money. How well-timed with BTG indeed.

Yeah. Amy had a child with Nathan and contacted Nate to reveal that 1) he has a half-brother and 2) she was dying. The child, Damian, had fallen out with Amy so she did not have the resources to find him on her own. Damian was also always getting into shady things. After debate, Nate decided to find him, using Devon's old detective friend to do so.

What the detective discovered was that Damian seem to bounce around working for the same company, but in all these different locations. They narrowed it down to L. A. so Nate, Amy, and Audra flew out under the guise of a job offer to get a feel for Damian. Nate talked to Damian alone and Damian seem lukewarm, but intrigued.

Once Nate, Audra, and Amy returned to Genoa City was when the reveals started. The first one...the company that Damian worked for...was DAMIAN'S company. Meaning he already knew who Nate was when Nate met him in L. A.

The second reveal occurred when Damian arrived in Genoa City to figure out why Nate had contacted him in the first place...not realizing his mother was dying...and it turned out--revealed only to the audience--the man Nate met in L. A. WAS NOT Damian, but a man named Holden who worked for Damian. Damian had Holden posing as him to get to the bottom of Nate's interest in him.

The third reveal just happened over the last two weeks. And that was Nate arranging to meet with Damian (really Holden) to reveal why he contacted him in the first place. What Holden did not know was that Amy was there, too. As soon as she laid eyes on him, the jig was up!!! That led to some great confrontation scenes between the real Damian, Nate, and Amy. So Damian now knows his mother is dying and also Nate is his half-brother. He is still adjusting...and fancies Lily who he bumped into and was immediately intrigued. Meanwhile, Holden has a past with Audra...meaning that she knew Holden was not Damian the WHOLE TIME...which will put her relationship with Nate in jeopardy as well as put her in the crosshairs of Devon and Lily who she had finally made inroads with over the past year.

Writing that out...it's been a pretty good storyline. lol. I personally suspected Damian owned the company due to Amy saying how much Damian loved the Count of Monty Cristo. And that reveal was well-done. But usually this storyline when it was featured in an episode ended on cliffhangers which were also done. All of the reveals I mentioned above were codas in scenes...usually Thursday/Friday cliffhangers.

I hope that helps.

I'm still playing catch-up on last week, my focus completely on BTG.

YW!!! Writing it out...yeah. No wonder me and a few others have enjoyed it. As Paul said, it is fresh.

The only thing that has let it down has been the pacing at times. Though the slow burn has allowed for getting invested more...especially with the Nate, Amy, and Audra dynamic. One of the reveals was a Friday cliffhanger that was not followed up the following Monday. Instead...a bunch of crap writing. In fact, that was the second week of February. lol. Monday and Friday were a waste of time, but Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday were good. And those had that storyline in it if I remember correctly.

Holy cow when you read it written all out, it’s so so good! And the best part is, when it’s actually featured, all of the actors truly deliver. It really is the only reason I’m watching right now and it’s not lost on me that the main story I’m enjoying is the black story. Every now and then the Hastings/Winters get a bone thrown their way and I’m always invested. This might be their best story since Neil died and they took over as the remaining Winters clan. And it’s mainly been fixed on Nate while now naturally bringing in Lily and Devon, moreso Lily. Loving it.

Wish I could move them to BTG

Sharon being kidnapped again does not interest me.

Well I am one of the few authors in my authors group that loves to do a synopsis.

But seriously thank you. When I read it back, I was surprised as well. It really sounds great seeing it laid out like that. It does help that everyone is bringing their A game. And now off of the 2-21 episode, there's another reveal coming, too? Not sure how I feel about that one, but we will see how that plays out.

Hmmm. Honestly, I'm not sure if it's my favorite story for them since Neil died. lol. I liked the IPO Takeover. But for me, it is the fact that it was just subtext for the rivalry between Devon and Nate and the fact that they took them forever to admit to each other's face that the REAL reason they had problems with each other was not even the fact Nate was new so Devon wasn't listening to him, but Devon was mad at him for stealing Elena away and Nate was spiteful for the loss of his hands (with Imani in his ear as Lady MacBeth). But that was down to how BJ and SD played that subtext regardless of the words coming out of their mouth. And okay, I give the writers credit for keeping the rift between them and Lily going and the tension between Devon and Nate going as long as organically possible. Very realistic.

Then again...Maybe I should take that back!! Cuz they fumbled the ending of that storyline by Nate risking it all for Elena...only to fall for Victoria barely a month later. Not to mention Imani vanishing. And...lol.

    • Tbf it's not unusual for a family when they are dealing with some bad news that changes a life to use song to give out hope.Especially black families. I personally had to deal with that very thing this weekend. Partly off putting, but at the same time, I did get the point and it gave me a bit of hope in the moment.      MM is definitely acting. But Smitty is just so passive. It could turn into quiet strength at some point, but for now...passive IMO.
    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
    • Trisha Mann-Grant, Ambyr Michelle, Sean Freeman are destined for bigger and better things. They need to move on as soon as their initial contracts are done.
    • Daphnée Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant on Instagram live, 5/5/2025 just concluded, saved here https://www.instagram.com/p/DJSsYb7PDv8/
    • I really need to see Anita in a scene that isn't with a family member. In fact, I would have preferred that she would have gotten rid of the mob and had a one on one with Leslie to lay down the law with her.  I'm going to say it, Mike Manning has been completely lifeless on this show. Other than people's superficial fondness for him, I don't get what they see in him as an actor. I never saw him on DAYS though. The show had another really strange cut right before the opening credits where it looked like they almost cut off Nicole mid-sentence.  Kat/Eva are carrying this show on their backs. Lock them in for lifetime contracts, I beg.
    • There's a 1980 scene of Victor and Katherine in the Chancellor Estate living room where they went over a contract that would put Victor in charge of Chancellor Industries, but it was rewritten that Katherine brought Victor to Genoa City so he could run Chancellor Industries.
