@Xanthe Thanks for the response.

Makes sense. I recall a soap actress (can't remember who) saying they made a considerable amount from a national commercial that ran for a few years.

I don't recognize the adult women in the ads @DRW50 but I believe the young girl in the Joy ad is Lisa Lucas.  She played Addie in The House Without a Christmas tree, and played the daughter of Shirley MacLaine in The Turning Point and daughter of Jill Clayburgh in An Unmarried Woman.  And I believe the policeman in the Charmin commercial is Bill Quinn.

Emily Prager was the best adult Laurie Ann in my opinion.  She played the young ingenue during the Keith Whitney/Jonah Lockwood plot.

One of the Top 10 Stories in soap opera history, IMHO. It was brilliantly written (Henry Slesar was a genius) and surprisingly scary. My heart was in my throat during the conclusion of Jonah Lockwood's reign of terror, when he cornered Laurie in the light house. EEK!

Yep, I agree that the actor playing a cop in the Charmin commercial is definitely Bill Quinn.

Thanks. I thought it was Joanne too but soon realized it wasn't.

@jam6242 @vetsoapfan @SoapDope78 Sorry to tag you, just wondered if you knew any of these women.

Some of those actresses do look familiar but they are not ringing a bell at the moment.

So weird..I remember this as a pre-schooler... just someone chasing a women up a lighthouse stairs..filmed on location...and it was scary.

The entire story went on for months, and built slowly. It was unsettling at first, then unnerving, and ultimately terrifying. Writer Henry Slesar gave us so many twists and turns, so many surprises, so many heart-stopping moments, no wonder the ratings were so high at the time.

I remember watching this storyline on EON.  I was around 12 years old, so I remember it fairly well.  But does anyone remember if the location scenes were shot on film, or on videotape?  I would assume, in 1971-72 it would likely have been shot on film.  Soaps did very little location shooting at that time, and when they did it seemed to be always on film.  Just curious if EON may have been ahead of the game, and used videotape...

I don't think videotape was advanced enough at the time to be suitable for location work?

Video tape required special cameras that weren't available? There is some sort of technical explanation that is beyond me.

Linda Dano and Mark Consuelos on Rosie. Lots of 9/11 talk.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I've been grateful for all the "lost" soap content this year, especially the first half of the year - much more than I had ever expected. And I'm grateful to all of you here, who help get me through tough times.

Happy Thanksgiving, to you and all! Thankful to have great soap buddies here who know so much history of our favorite shows!
