Scott tried to woo Tracy again early this year as part of a dumb plot with Lucy (pre-Mulcahey, IIRC). She wasn't going for it.

I don't need more Scott than we already have in the last few years, frankly.

That pre-dates my GH viewing, so thanks so much for the further edification. I can count this as my minimum "learn something new every day" requirement!!! Tracy & Scott, huh? Okay!

I really like this Molly. I saw some of the other recasts which were a bit cringe but this new girl is awesome

I think there are places Scott could be useful.  Aside from Scott/Ric filling a similar role career wise, I don't find them redundant.  I just can't stand the kooky way Kin decides to play Scott these days.  He plays him more like a joke than a human.  Outside the scenes with Jagger about Karen, he's usually so OTT and campy.  It's not like Kin doesn't know the character or how to give Scott nuance-he just chooses not to for whatever reason.

I did like Scott's fatherly relationship with Liz which was just about the only good thing to come out of the Liz/Franco pairing

Yeah, this is it. You've hit on it, exactly. When Kin plays it straight, we can see & like or dislike Scott, but when he is far less than serious, it's like he's trying to be cute, but like Violet, it's an epic failure.

I'd want Scott on the canvas because he's currently the earliest debuting US soap character. I'd give him a depression storyline which would see him go through a character reset into someone than could be much more respectable and not such a joke or a bastard. And yes, obviously bring on Serena.

Honestly, I blame the writing for this. I think Kin is playing OTT and campy because that's what they give him. It doesn't help that his hair looks like it was cut by a lawnmower, giving us the mad scientist look.

Kin has looked like that and behaved like that onscreen for the better part of 25 years. It's his vibe. I have very limited tolerance for it these days. I fell out when Luke called Scott "Laura's Eraserhead fiance" in 2013 bc that's exactly what his hair looked like.

Kin's dad was a famous comedian in the 1940s and 50s on radio and early TV, Herb Shriner. Maybe that's why Kin gets the urge to act goofy.
