Again, I understand it, but also again, maybe soaps aren't the right medium for them.

And if they're worried about how sex scenes might affect their kids, all I have to say is, I hope Robert Scott Wilson never has a kid

And, of course, we all agree that bra straps is a sign of decadence. Wait, what? No, we don't. Bra straps are not even past the tease stage. Bra straps are effectively nothing. Maybe they'd be happier under the old Hayes standard, where married people had twin beds NOT pushed together & one had to have one foot on the floor at all times "in bed". Yeah, like, not.

What is the most likely outcome for Michael?

1. Michael dies.

2. Michael leaves town alone, abandoning Willow, his kids, and pregnant Sasha.

3. Michael leaves town with pregnant Sasha, abandoning Willow and his kids.

4. Michael leaves town with his kids, abandoning Willow and pregnant Sasha.

5. Michael leaves town with Willow and his kids, abandoning a pregnant Sasha.

6. Michael leaves town with pregnant Sasha and his kids, abandoning Willow.

7. Michael leaves town accompanied by both Willow, Sasha, and his kids.

Josh's real-life wife Lauren York Swickard (aka Lorynn York) is a producer/writer/actor.

When Gladys Corbin arranged for Sasha to be drugged and held at a psych facility, Lauren Swickard appeared on GH as an employee of that facility for approximately 10 episodes.
Her GH episodes were in autumn 2023, a month or two before the Amanda/Josh fan zoom.

Lauren and Josh met when they appeared together in a cowboy movie "Roped".
They later acted in Christmas movies together, that she wrote.

New: an interview from October 2024, on a Christian lifestyles/relationships show, with Josh and Lauren.  Josh says his father and grandfather are ministers.
At about 17 minutes in, Lauren and Josh start talking about the decision they made within their marriage about certain types of scenes they might appear in as actors -- the "boundaries" and what would their children think - similar to what was in the Amanda/Josh fan zoom from 2023, and with more detail from Josh on his thoughts on sex and art.

Again,  I will say they will be lucky if there are Brook Lynn and Chase scenes still on the internet when their kids are even old enough to find them lol.    I don't know you could also just explain to your child this is your acting job and it's not real like most every other actor with a child does.  I have no doubt Amanda and possibly Josh feel some kind of way about modesty, nudity, and sex scenes, but using your toddlers as the excuse is pretty lame.

Interesting.  Not about the boundary stuff, but I didn't know the lady at the mental facility was his wife.

Well apparently it changed for JS when he married and had kids, too, per what his wife Lauren said on the interview from last month.  Josh could go do movies and series on any of those Christian networks with his wife Lauren.

But yes for Amanda, she is in the observant practice of a form of Judaism.
I don't know what entertainment company/network/platform would honor that -- while giving her worthwhile roles.  I assume that there must be something, but I am not familiar with all the companies out there.

When Ellen Travolta first returned as Lois' mother, now Brook Lynn's grandmother, Ellen gave this interview in November 2023, and discussed Amanda:

Travolta quickly developed an affection for her on-screen granddaughter, Amanda Setton (Brook Lynn). <snip>  "Well, she is an absolutely beautiful, fabulous young woman. Very bright, very committed. Her personal life is very important to her and she honors it."

@Aragorn8. Michael is out of town on Aurora business briefly but then back, and things pick up where they left off, in trouble with a capital T.

@janea4oldThanks for that info about Josh & his wife. It means I have been wrong in thinking Josh was mostly just supporting Amanda's position & that he really does hold the same views.

I thought it was about to be concerning Chad's wife who has posted on IG about postpartum & anxiety about being away from their young baby since she's an airline stewardess & works 4 days on & then is back several days.

I think the fault of those post-coital scenes can be blamed 50% on the actors and 50% on the producers and directors. There is absolutely no reason Brook Lynn needed to look like a linebacker splayed out on the field.

And you're telling me these two wouldn't commit to at least a shoulders up shot, fully clothed but the illusion of nudity? That would be better than BLQ dressed like Ofchase.

Idk, this may sound harsh but if AS and JS's beliefs changed after they took the job then the job should be able to say move along and change their contract status.  They are basically holding the show hostage with their demands with one of the few GH love stories the show is willing to invest in.

I simply do not understand why the show goes along with it. Good solid good looking actors are not that hard to come by. If their beliefs put them in direct opposition to something that their job calls for, replace them! They've got union cards & they've banked some salary, they can go after some acting job that doesn't call for "Love in the Afternoon".

Wow…I love that AS and JS refuse to compromise on their values. I hope when their current contracts expire they send Chase and Brook Lynn off screen with a happily ever after and I never have to see them showcased as a tentpole soap couple ever again

    • Coming into June...   It just occurred to me that seeing Carter/Hope engaged that there was something missing. Oh, yeah! DAPHNE. I missed a few episodes, but she left, right? So is Ridge going to be the spoiler for Carter/Hope now? I felt that Daphne/Carter/Hope had more legs to it. But I guess we will see.   I did enjoy that show circling back around to Luna/Will/Electra. Katie was spitting nothing, but truth. Same for Sheila. And it's good to see Luna vs Electra, and they gave off more adversary chemistry this time around versus when they were at Deacon's.    I was happy to see Liam reduced to C plot.
    • To bring over from the May Sweeps Thread from @Chris B   I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.   I agree. While it has been hit and miss no question, I have found it fascinating to watch what the costume designer is attempting to do with the various characters and their clothes. Some have been overdue. Some have been fascinating. But (outside of Billy) not boring to watch. I definitely find it more modern as well.   My growing issue has been it's not good that the best reason to watch Y&R as of late has been to see what people are wearing rather than the writing. It feels like a red flag.
    • Haha. The fact that I stopped regularly viewing at the same time and know what you are talking about is chef's kiss.    I'm slowly bingewatching Nurse's Ball Week. But it's slow for me because a lot of the same tics and writing flaws for me that made me throw up my hands is still evident *cough*CVE*cough* Thankfully, there are some things I like also and from a glance in the GH May Thread, it seem like it had a good Sweeps with good fallout. And do I even need to mention Nina finally slapping the taste out of Carly's mouth? See? Regardless of her flaws, I do enjoy Korte-headed episodes over CVE-headed episodes because they always seem to have more emotional resonance to long-time fans.
    • And that charity does still get mentioned from time to time. I want to say the last time was some time this year, too.
    • Oh, no. Vernon has definitely had his moments.   Choose silence anyone?
    • Search YT for Edwyn Sanchez, he posted an AI enhanced episode of ATWT and it is beautiful.
    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
