I would bring Alcazar back for at least an arc, but not for Lois lol. And yes, that was all my thinking on Jax. There's a history and he plugs in all over. One of those dudes Carl dug up is hot! I'm so behind on Neighbours.

I would probably let them mention it, since I am pleased when you can casually mention weird history (like the whole Tomas Delgado thing, easily explained in one line of dialogue) in a not totally gratuitous way, which this show too often does over the last 10+ years. I would not go back there though lol.

Unfortunately, I do.  I am not the biggest fan of singing on soaps in general, but I hate when it's very marginally talented singers and that era had a lot of them lol.

It's still hard for me to buy Ned as a rockstar, but at least that story was fun.  Then again, I didn't buy Miguel Morez as a rockstar, but Ricky Martin has proven me wrong lol.

I'll give it that it was at least vaguely topical and silly fun with an existing GH framework (L&B) that was not mob-oriented. But the execution (especially Dillon doing a She's The Man) was dreadfully stupid lol.

I don't mind telling a showbiz story on soaps though the format makes it inherently limited when you're not in a big city and can only change a character's status quo so much. I think it can be a unique challenge rarely solved well (which is probably part of why Dillon is not back). Singing stories almost never work well lol. But I would take Lois and possibly BLQ back to L&B in some new media way, while keeping Brook in the mix at Deception.

I believe that Nikolas murdered Austin because he slept with Ava. Nikolas is currently not wanted on by the writers and is in prison for kidnapping Esme. If the show wants Nikolas in the future, he can get of prison. If the show no longer wants Nikolas in the future, then Austin's murder will be pinned on him and he will stay in prison forever.

Yeah, the entire thing with models/actors/singers on soaps is that they are in a small town.

I would take L&B back in a second, but it's hard to believe these people are truly famous and not just playing at Luke's every weekend lol.  I guess it would be Curtis's club these days instead.  I think you could make it slightly believable by just one or two characters saying Lois and Brook are in New York working instead of basing their entire business in PC with PC characters and make it seem more expansive in general.

It's a tricky problem. I think it's easy enough though to have most of the artists or talent be largely offscreen, or when it's a contract player (like Danny Romalotti on Y&R) have most of their action be out of town.

With someone like Dillon, a filmmaker, I can think of ways to make it work or innovate on it, or just move him into a somewhat different field in media where he can be closer to home. But Dillon becoming just another ELQ drone would be depressing. I do think something like BLQ functioning like Jack Antonoff or whatever (a songwriter/creative) could work, but I sadly can't currently imagine Colonial Woman on the Wing Churning Butter* BLQ doing any of that at present. Maybe if Chase dies in a horrible sweeps incident!

This is not confirmed, but I did just read on Reddit from a fan that Genie had a death in her family around 3 weeks ago. That would possibly explain her being gone. She may have been gone from filming even longer due to the declining health of this person, which would explain the disruption to the stories. I was kind of wondering if something like this was possibly why things seem kind of stalled and also moving along.

LOL at Leslie being excited for the cops to search her place.
    • Writers: Christopher Dunn Judy Tate Director: Michael V. Pomarico
    • But she's a DUPREE and that makes her immune to any and everything!
    • About the only thing that could really get me interested in this show right now would be a "Who Killed Victor?" storyline IF he stayed dead. The writing for him is atrocious! And the lineup of possible suspects would be most of the canvas. Months worth of great story if done well.....of course...not getting done with Griffith.
    • I really hope you’re wrong. Dani Desperate Dupree being right will make her even more insufferable than she’s already been.
    • I know this board has very strong opinions about Scheffer's reign which run the gamut from brilliant to the nadir of the series.  I'm one of the fans. 2001 - 2005 are, imo, the second best years for the series. The first being Marland.  As The World Turns won Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Drama Series in '87 and '91. However, it wasn't until Scheffer came along that it won again...in '01 and '03. Plus it won for Best Writing Team in '01, '02, '04, and '05, an award it had never managed to win before and didn't again. When Scheffer left and Passanante was the main head writer (along with various other co-head writers) the show began to seriously tank. However, it wasn't just the writing. The budget was gone. The sets were made to be smaller or destroyed. There was all that weird hand held camera directing for a while. Scenes that were obviously shot in the hallway where the series was filmed. I think '06 - '10 is a roller coaster. There are some storylines I really enjoyed and some that were eye-rolling. Looking in the rearview mirror though, I can see that the actors, writers, directors, and crew were working their best with what money they had.
    • They are idiots! It seems crazy that Leslie is inserting herself so much into this investigation but everybody is falling into her traps. I find it to be an interesting back and forth and I'm still not completely sure who will win. I have a theory but I'm going to wait for more to develop before I say more. I feel like Haley has been more on the sidelines so I'm enjoying this new desperate streak she appears to be developing. I'm curious how it'll manifest overtime. I also agree with Dani that I am not convinced she's pregnant. I think she's trying to get pregnant but really just see's herself fading into the background and wants attention and validation from Dani and her family.
