Frankly, I'd rather see Valarie Pettiford (and Stephanie E. Williams) join the cast of BTG.  They don't need to be on this sinking ship of a soap opera.

I do find it funny that Y&R and GH are trying to boost their Black presence as we lead up to The Gates premiere. I wish it was genuine, but you know it won't last, they're just trying to hold onto their audience.

Is GH though? Who are they adding? Where is Trina's story?

They're likely referring to the hiring of Sawandi Wilson as Isaiah Gannon.

Oh, that guy. He's cute but the gratuitous possible OLTL angle (and the likelihood that they will  just throw him at that fembot playing Jordan for some C-plot) already made me check out.

I give a single snap for at least bringing back a [former] character, and not just creating a new one for the Hell of it. But it's clearly a reach for try and compete with Beyond the Gates. And yet, Brytni Sarpy was still wasted.

Yeah, this is a mess. She'll be nothing like Amy and may as well be a new character. Comical.

Theories: 

• In anticipation of BTG, Josh Griffith literally asked the Y&R historian for a list of past African American characters and is randomly bringing them back. (TBH this is the most likely.)
• She's bringing Paul back from Portugal. (Not gonna happen!)
• She was a PI, is now a cop and will be Chance's boss if he goes back to the force (They might even create a tiny office for her that can only be filmed from one angle!)
• Something to do with Nathan and Nate. (Maybe they will bring Nathan back from the dead 🤣).

 

What's next? Tyrone? Jazz? Dr. Stephanie Simmons?

The long-term with GH seems to be phasing out any black characters, including probably the most popular black character they ever had. I do think of the current black character group Jordan is probably the only one they will keep, and TJ, I suppose.

What a plot right out of the Valentini GH playbook. It’s a name from the past! She will  sprinkle some nostalgia tidbits around and immediately feel out of place because the ties are not there.

Y&R, if they cared to genuinely get some engagement with potential fans of the upcoming soap, would figure out a resurrection story for Hilary. Just in the time of mentioning this I came up with one lol.
