DAYS: Head Writer Ron Carlivati Departing Peacock Soap After Seven Years

I don't see Jackee or RSW leaving, but the others probably will.  It's a shame they were wasted because BB, EOB, and even GR aren't bad actors.  They were just horribly written.

9 months is so long.  I can literally gestate a human in that time lol.   It's difficult when the news happens and then you have to wait nearly a year for action to show on screen.

Oh, I see them all going, since they've essentially been pets of the "writer" the entire time. Clean-sweep it to bring back some classic, true-to-heart characters.

Mhmm. It baffles me when they should've been less than that, as they aired taped material until through [most] of the 2020 era of the pandemic... so, sometime in the interim they quite honestly sped-taped things. And it showed. Quite disappointing.

I wouldn't be sad about either Paulina or Alex going, but you can bring back Ben and I don't mind Paulina/Abe.   I think JH fits better than RSW playing his second character or EOB playing a second unpopular character in a blonde wig lol.  I am invested in both Chanel and Lani so I do see Paulina's value even if I can't stand JH's "style" of acting lol.

It feels like they should just scrap a lot of RC's stuff, but I realize that it's way too expensive.  A fresh start could really re-boot the show, but it still generally lands in the top 10 on peacock everyday, so I don't know if ratings are actually bad.

RON CARLIVATI TO END "DAYS" RUN IN 3RD PLACE ALL-TIME FOR MOST EPISODES AS HEAD WRITER....

Ron Carlivati will wrap his "Days" run in April 2025, with around 1,960-1,970 episodes as head writer. That places him just behind William J. Bell (2,211 episodes) and James E. Reilly (2,069 episodes) on the all-time "Days" list.

Neither work for me, and I've hated Wilson since All My Children, so neither would be a loss for me. I've taken to O'Brien as Theresa, but I don't see the need for either on the canvas right now.

Invest a bit of money, re-write and re-tape five-to-six months worth of material. Just do it.

RSW doesn't bother me the way he does for most.  I think he's handsome and charming enough.  I wouldn't actually care if he left, but he doesn't really annoy me to much.  He seems like he tries and likes his job.  YMMV and I do understand him being unpopular just due to the enormous propping they did for him.  The Days cast doesn't feel that crowded to me and I do like Justin/WK having a purpose.

I agree, but it will never happen.

Hey everybody, all the talk about apologies from people at GH or to people at Days had me thinking all day and I’ve finally come up with a comprehensive list of the actors at Days that I feel Ron owes an apology to. Feel free to add any that I’ve missed…

Kassie DePaiva, Kate Mansi, Marci Miller, Patrika Darbo, Victoria Konefal, Emily O’Brien, Lindsay Arnold, Raven Bowens, Sal Stowers, Jessica Serfaty, Chrishell Stause, Billy Flynn, Paul Telfer, Peter Porte, Mike Manning, Brock Kelly, Freddie Smith, Chandler Massey, Zach Tinker, Lucas Adams, Carson Boatman, Matthew Ashford, Kevin Spirtas, Cameron Johnson.

And I don’t know why but I think he owes Thaao Penghlis an apology as well, judging from the little shade that Thaao threw when he was on Dishin Days.

And even though he loved Marlena and Leo, I think on some level that he owes Deidre Hall and Greg Rikaart apologies as well.

This is surely a budget move as much as anything else. With Ron having headwrote OLTL and GH he would be able to command a good salary, and Cwickly and Ford must be cheaper.

They probably wrote days during the strike and the numbers didn't drop and there was no huge backlash to their stories so it was an easy move to save $$$ and drop Ron.
