Members Maxim
She and my father are on a pause after that. I was sick of them ruining my vacation with phobism and hate. I am rooting for Imane, like it's me up there! Show them, GIRL!
Members DramatistDreamer
When I was on Twitter (so glad to have left that hellscape behind), I had to report accounts repeatedly (only with a 50% success rate) for misgendering people, misogynistic and misogynoir, racists death threats and rape threats. Looking back on it now, I don’t know why I stayed as long as I did. I guess I thought that I could help root out the horrific behavior but I only made a very tiny ripple in a very big swamp of toxicity. It was a waste of my energy.
Members Maxim
My reports on reddit almost always lead to nothing. I have no idea why. Disgusting comments, phobism and hate are left like that. People calling that girl in male names and male pronouns and getting upvoted for it. And Facebook... Boy oh boy... that is a whole another trip to a toxic cess pool. They should call it Hatebook these days. It's funny how now I can freely see my Maths high school teacher being a transphobe in public on Facebook and can't do nothing about it other than to report and then receive the inevitable - you can unfollow or unfriend, but the comment stays.
Members DramatistDreamer
Years ago, I was on Reddit for about a day because I had a question about a particular type of software that I once used. Someone answered my question. They were very helpful but I haven’t used Reddit since. It does come up in searches I do for news articles, as sometimes there are gift links for articles. But I spend all of 12 seconds there. Facebook, I’ve never been a member of. It’s funny how Facebook used to come up in searches for notable people but now it’s Instagram (another social media platform that I’m not on). Not to derail the Olympic thread but yeah, it can be rough out there in the SM space.

Members kalbir
Men's 100 meters is today. Anyone but Noah Lyles please.
Administrator Toups Posted August 4, 2024 Administrator Share Posted August 4, 2024 I don't think I've seen a race that close at the Olympics! Five-thousands of a second. Wow!! Watching it live, I thought Thompson won. But Lyles sure had a fast last couple of meters because he was trailing.
Members kalbir
@Toups It was a nail biter. Noah Lyles annoyed me with his whole "no flags in the NBA" and "the average person is closer to LeBron James than to me" takes. Granted, I'm not a LeBron fan either but that's beside the point.

Administrator Toups Posted August 5, 2024 Administrator Share Posted August 5, 2024 I don't know anything about him but he does some like a very confident dude and likes to showboat. But kudos to him for backing it up with winning the gold. If you're gonna talk-the-talk, you gotta walk-the-walk.
