“General Hospital” has cast Giovanni Mazza as Giovanni Cerrullo, a cousin of Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) who will play the violin at her wedding to Chase (Josh Swickard) in scenes set to air during the week of May 13, reports Deadline.

Mazza, an experienced violinist and actor who has appeared in episodes of “Chicago Fire” and “Bella and the Bulldogs,” among other series, commented on his casting on Instagram, saying, “I am so honored, grateful, and ecstatic to announce the big news! The biggest thank you to @generalhospitalabc for bringing me on and @hlywd1977 for being the absolute best agent in Hollywood! So much love and joy to my new fam! YAY!!!”

Some of Mazza’s new co-stars congratulated him in response to his posting, including Tabyana Ali (Trina), Eden McCoy (Josslyn) and Evan Hofer (Dex), with Hofer stating, “Happy to have you brother.”

A native of Chicago, Mazza began his professional acting career at the age of 8 when he appeared in a commercial for Walmart.

On it, Mazza can be seen performing the National Anthem or during the Halftime show at several LA Lakers and Golden State Warriors games, among other sporting events. More recently, he performed “Imperfect Pearl” during a Cleveland Cavaliers game, which you can view below.
