Am I correct in believing that viewership peaked this year in the week of January 15-19.

Total Viewers
1. Y&R 3,388,000 (+38,000)
2. B&B 2,891,000 (+67,000)
3. GH 2,231,000 (+39,000)

That was when Spencer let Nikolas run away with Ace. I found that offensive and I wasn't alone. Viewership has been dropping since.

From ratings at SON, #GH

On the positive side, for the week and season-to-date, “General Hospital” remains ABC’s highest-rated daytime series among Women 18-49 and 25-54.

It's not all bad news.

Gh also does very well on Hulu

Hell people joke that ABC may just move GH to Hulu. Okay it does very well there so Id be ok with that.

I remember when AMC & OLTL continued on Hulu people lost their shyte.  What a difference a decade can make.

ABC doesn't make as much revenue to offset any costs as they still do from traditional TV advertising - that's why the ratings still matter for it and the other network soaps.

Hulu is basically going to go extinct and be folded into Disney+ anyway.

Not technically true. The Hulu part, I mean.

Despite Disney+ having more overall subscribers worldwide, Hulu itself actually has more subscribers in the United States than Disney+. Additionally, based on available data (via Nielsen and other sources I've been in contact with), Hulu actually has a higher viewership churn than Disney+. That doesn't mean they won't fold Hulu within Disney+ at some point (likely to expand the reach of the original content library).

The Hulu brand as a standalone service/app isn't something Disney will/should just get rid of anytime soon, especially with the Hulu+Live TV plan making close to $400 million for the company every month based on just 4 million subscribers.

Sure and....? That's out out of how many overall people watching the top shows that do better. Does GH do well with a thousand, two thousand, watching...etc?

I mean what does their top trending show does # wise, cause other wise the "it does well on HULU" doesn't really mean much if it's a couple thousand or so watching compared to what the other shows do on the app

They probably will keep Hulu going as a standalone for a while, but I know they’ve recently folded it into the Disney+ app as well

Yes, they did add a Hulu tab, but they didn't "fold" Hulu into the app in the traditional sense of that word. That said, General Hospital, in particular, is not available to watch via Hulu on Disney+. There are others that are available on traditional Hulu but not within Disney+.

Today's GH was great.

It was better but not great. Considering how boring the show has been...today's show didn't have far to go to do that.

Highlights:

Tracy and Ned scenes to open up the show.

The Lois and Ned conversation in front of the church as well as BL and Ned.

Awwwww...Spanelli humped Jason at the wedding!

Why was Sonny at the wedding?

The ending was ok but could've been much better.

Yeah, very strange integration. I also read that Disney+ became profitable for Disney for the first time ever this year - goes to tell you how costly these streaming services are and that they’re not really cash cows as was initially anticipated.
