Oh Lord, not you bringing the baby switch into it. lol. But I understand. That first week is going to be so full of chatter here and I can't wait for it.

MVJ has always been one of my favorite writers to watch so I'm fully in support of her. And just seeing a show with a dominant black family that also has a production that has so many black people working BTS as well. Something that truly inspires me more than I feel I show. And YES. The black audience have always been so unseen and undervalued in terms of how much they support 'the stories.' I've always said that people be sitting on a gold mine given BITD how GREY'S ANATOMY blew up because it had great writing, but tapped that unseen representation. Well, BITD.

I feel in my bones that I'm going to be stanning (yep, I said it) Daphnée Duplaix's Dani. I've always liked her work on OLTL. So I can't wait to see her full potential on display.

I really need to see that new promo.

I still cannot believe that ABC made me watch OLTL with AMC & GH so I could get the whole storyline! But, even if I say it begrudgingly, it was worth it. And, I got so much posting mileage out of a pilot crashes a helicopter in the woods with 2 pregnant women on board & both go into unplanned, unexpected labor & both deliver but only 1 baby lives ...

And the entire Script Writing Team, too, who we did not see.

Plus, I cannot get over 27 sets! I am dying to know how many they can have set up at any given time. The diner set looked fixed, permanent.

Wait. There's a second promo?

Your post filled with such a nice but big feeling of nostalgia. Online I had so many Canadian fans because of AW!!! And, they were constantly piss*d off because they didn't count in the ratings that were paid attention to.

And, my favorite Beverlee McKinsey interview is the Canadian "City Lights"!

Dragging myself back on topic, who can tell me where this new promo is? 33 days but who is counting?!!

Sorry if this has been posted or asked already, but do we know anything as far as availability to streaming platforms and release time/schedules.

From the commercials, I know that BTG will be made available to stream on Paramount+. Will new episodes be available to stream the day of or next day? Since this is the first time a soap opera is available to stream from the very beginning, will they try to promote/push for streaming viewership over live viewers.

Similarly, will they try to innovate in some ways? I think weekly/monthly summary episodes with the highlights would be great for new viewers trying to get into watching that may not want to start from the very beginning or feel like they don't have the time to always watch all 5 episodes each week.

❝ CBS announced today that BEYOND THE GATES, the new daytime drama series and debut project from the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, will premiere Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, and air weekdays (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; 1:00-2:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+*.

*Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers will have access to stream live via the live feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service, as well as on-demand. Paramount+ Essential subscribers will not have the option to stream live, but will have access to on-demand the day after the special airs. ❞

⏤ via Paramount Press Express

Although, I'd wager, same-day episodes [would be] available around 5pm ET, much like Y&R/B&B appear to be (as well as CBS.com).

Like "The Young and the Restless" and "The Bold and the Beautiful," episodes of "Beyond the Gates" will be available to stream LIVE on Paramount+ with a SHOWTIME subscription via your local CBS affiliate (option shown in the platform). Otherwise, it can be streamed On Demand on Paramount+ later in the day, generally after it has already been broadcast in all U.S. timezones.

    • The actor who plays Martin has been teasing that nobody has guessed Martin's secret. I love that for things like that and the June story we have no idea. I feel like if we didn't have the day ahead feeds Anita's reveal would've been shocking as well. I love that they aren't going the obvious route with these stories.
    • I tried following the news in Los Angeles at https://laist.com (independent public radio and news) They had up-to-the minute accurate info during the wildfires in January. There's no video, no impact to my mind as to what's happening. Trying other outlets, to get the truth, but it's hard.
    • That's a bit murky since that happened during a writers' strike. Assuming Kristen Marie had a 2-year contract she left about when her contract would have expired and Sharlene and Josie showed up right before that. Lemay was officially credited as HW from September 1988 but it seems very probable that his anticipated tenure influenced events that happened during the strike which started in April.
    • I've seen so many posters over the years who are bright, creative, well-versed in soap history, and who care deeply about the integrity of the genre. I'd put the shows' chances in their hands a lot faster than I would allow any of the "usual suspects" to take control of the dramas they've already helped decimate. When I returned to university in the 1980s, I created a bible for a new soap and presented it in my screenwriting class. It was in reaction to how badly I saw the network shows being butchered at the time. The creative process was thrilling; a total joy, and I still smile when I remember the positive feedback I received from the professor and my fellow students. I was used to seeing written commentary from professors on my work. This one wrote me a long, complimentary note on the final page of the bible, but also graded it 97%, A+. I was beaming ear to ear for days!

    • Thanks. I do wonder if Rose was meant to be more given the caliber of actress they hired. I remembered Sara and Peggy staying longer as they were still on when Soapnet started their repeats. I wonder if that was part of the reason they brought Jake's brother in.
    • Speculation about Missy Reeves' potential evolution on basic civil rights doesn’t change my opinion of her. My view is shaped entirely by her public social media presence—which I find unpalatable—and I have no interest in learning more beyond that. I simply liked Jennifer’s hair and dress. That’s as far as my admiration goes.

    • Cheryl was gone before Lemay came back but I agree with your thinking that he would rather a character from a family he introduced to the show than a family he did not originate.  I remember reading somewhere in the early 90's probably after DS left as writer, their was an either a writer or a producer who made a comment that their intent was bring the McKinnon family back to AW.  Would have made sense for the newer viewers from the 80's.  Much like Lemay's attempt to bring the Frames back from his writing in the 70's in his 1988 return
    • DePriest left in January 1988. According to the AWHP, Rose last appeared nearly a year before in February 1987 while both Sara and Peggy appeared as late as October 1987.
    • Annie was not brought in as an antagonist for Reva. Reva wasn’t even on the canvas when Annie first appeared in late 1994.
    • The speculation……….very entertaining.
