January 1Jan 1 Member Watch and see we get a storyline similar to this. Or maybe some handsome black dude seduces Martin when it's time for an affair. OR.......for some reason I think that Andre is going to be bisexual, and he ends up sleeping with his cousin's husband. Ratchetness and smut is what I think we're going to get from this show, and I'm here for it.

At GH she wrote the revisitation of the Luke & Laura rape using her own rape, Liz's rape & Audrey's rape. She paired Kevin & Lucy as a couple for the first time. At B&B she was one of the writers involved in telling Maya's story. That leaves Santa Barbara which, sorry, I don't have any info on. If you do not respect Michele Val Jean as a writer because Sally Sussman was unable to pull a rabbit out of NBC's midday half hour show with no lead-in you're certainly entitled to hold that opinion. Me, I am positively thrilled every single time I read, "Michelle Val Jean is the creator, headwriter, an executive producer and showrunner ..." What people currently writing on a soap do you have respect for?

Some people will see only the one thing they can say negative about someone and ignore all the amazing and wonderful things that you eloquently mentioned. I don't remember who said it exactly, but a quote comes to mind - "If I walked on water... the critics would say - it's because he can't swim."
January 1Jan 1 Member To try and place blame on MVJ for the shortcomings of Generations is ridiculous. She was a script writer. She had no control over story or productions details. BTG is her baby, so however this show turns out, it's all on her. I have faith BTG is going to be a welcomed breath of fresh air.
January 1Jan 1 Member None of MVJ’s writing has ever been “ratchet” or “smut” like and trying to credit her for Generations failing is ridiculous.

I have no idea what would make someone expect or believe that BTG will deliver something that can be described as "smut".

This guy had a preconceived opinion about how he thought the show would roll, and he doesn't speak very highly of the NAACP's involvement either. 😆 I think he's going to end up being right. Perceived black behavior and stereotypes. Angry black women, angry and murderous minded black men, downlow black men, drug dealers, male and female prostitution. All of it. This show will be an agenda, like this guy thought months ago. But again, I'm here for it.
