If imbd is even slightly reliable, then I hope this dude, Malachi Malik, shows up. Allegedly, he's Jacob's dad, Elon Hawthorne. He looks good. Hook him up with Dani to annoy Bill.

Oooh how I get a thrill as I'm playing catch up on Y&R and B&B and hearing the music and seeing the teaser.

Can't wait.

I think this dude is gonna be real good on this show. I think I recall hearing he got into acting just four years ago. Also, the dude who plays Jacob. And he seemingly knows how to cry on cue. That's BIG. 😆

He's mid. Hoping he's someone who grows into the role, and learns from those around him.

They are definitely promoting it a lot. Saw the teaser during last night’s Kennedy Center Honors.

The promo style is very “CBS”: a Matlock promo had similar editing and music. (As a cord cutter, I don’t see many of these promos anymore.)

Yeah, Sheila Ducksworth revealed the promo was pushed to primetime prior to the daytime launch, which is smart. And it's exactly what @Errol said would happen!! It's exciting.

It'll be interesting to see if these "unknowns" will endure the hustle and bustle that a daytime soap requires. I've always heard the most seasoned soap actors proclaim how difficult working on a daytime soap is. The scheduling, having to memorize LOTS of dialogue, etc. I wish them all very well though.

I just pray that the directing team will have SOME time to rehearse with the actors, especially with the younger and less experienced ones.  Too many otherwise great scenes and stories have been sunk in this industry by actors who have to perform with little to no direction at all.

I hope the early start on filming they'll at least be able to do that for the first couple of weeks, but realistically, they'll need to adapt to the same schedule as all other soaps sooner rather than later.

Not necessarily.  There was a time when soaps HAD the time for rehearsal.  Maybe not a lot of rehearsal, but enough to help the cast find the spine of each scene they were playing and modulate their performances accordingly.

It could be done again, I think, but TPTB would need to be realistic.  The days of giant casts and lavish sets are over; and the money spent on such things could be put back into rehearsal time.

Oh I love your idea of moving the budget into paying for rehearsal time, and paying for directors to be able to actually direct emotion and language (instead of most soaps currently having their directors basically doing little more than blocking)

This would be fabulous & it would do credit to a brand new show. Starting with it maybe they could keep it going.

On Pluto TV on the Bob Barker Price is Right channel they are airing the promo during every commercial break.  CBS definitely wants people to know that premiere date! 😉
