Ed Scott is 80 years old. Great that he's still working but my guess is he's not being brought in to replace JG as EP in the next months. Perhaps, he's being brought in to support a non Bell employee who will be appointed EP to replace JG (my Christmas wish).  Steve Kent must be in his late 60s or 70s as well?  Clearly, Sony and CBS are not invested in shoring up this show to support and strengthen Beyond The Gates.  They are making changes around the edges but the show still sucks. Sharon's plot is just a redux of Ash's DID which is kind of a redux of Chelsea's breakdown.  They do these medical arcs and these biz arcs and the show is still unwatchable under JG.

CBS.com and Paramount+ wiped out Season 51 episodes, per their contract with Sony. Only Season 52 episodes are available, effective October 3, 2024. Only someone who DVRs the show could verify at this point.

Point of reference, I was working on something regarding B&B credits the other day and as of the 9/6 episode (last time I paid attention), Casey and Ed were both listed as Supervising Producers at B&B. As of the 9/10 episode (didn't see the credits for 9/9), only Casey was listed as Supervising Producer at B&B. So it looks like early to mid-September Ed left B&B/re-joined Y&R (credit wise). Therefore, he likely made the switch formally in August.

GH:

- Celena Cipriaso first listed as Breakdown Writer on November 1

Wow, surprised they gave this big episode as her first one at GH.  Celena wrote 4 scripts for AMC in 2010.

From https://www.roadmapwriters.com/executive-bio/celena-cipriaso#bio_testimonials

"Celena Cipriaso is a first-generation Filipina/American, who worked on Seasons 1-3 of THE CLEANING LADY for Fox and was most recently an Executive Story Editor. Previously a Staff Writer on CBS/Secret Hideout’s CLARICE, she worked her way up as a writer’s assistant on shows like STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. She was a fellow of the 2017-2018 NBC Writer’s on The Verge Program and was named as one of the up-and-coming TV writers for 2023-2024 Next List by Coverfly and Tracking Board. She got her start in TV helping her grandma learn English by watching All My Children (which she also eventually became a writer for). In another life, she was a pop culture and beer journalist for outlets such as CNN, Slate, and the Root."

They keep making all these changes around the margins instead of firing Josh Griffith.  But...I'm feeling cautiously optimistic that he's finished at the end of the year which would mean his soiled toilet paper material would air into March. Of course, it's pure speculation but since Kent joined there have been a lot of changes and none of them have worked. Kent should go too

    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.
