I forget Zende is a Forrester. They barely even use him. His anger really came out of left field today. Did I miss an episode where he was complaining about RJ?

They almost played this exact same story, with Zende frustrated about not getting respect as a designer at FC, with Rome Flynn in the role. I thought they might have Zende defect to Spectra, but like so many promising B&B stories, it was dropped.

Follow through with the writing has been a problem on this show for many many years. It just keeps reverting back to what was happening before. For example, Brooke and Taylor's friendship presented an opportunity to take the show in a new direction, but...it all got dumped in the span of one episode so they could fight over Ridge for the millionth time. It often feels like they're scared to do anything new.

Totally. I’m all for dropping things that don’t work, but this show feels so chaotic with the fits and starts that ultimately revert back to the “norm.”

Again, I wish we had a more empowered soap press who did more than transcribe publicity soundbites from TPTB. Like more insights on process, how they respond to fan reactions, etc. The types of interviews we often get from primetime showrunners.

Zende's anger toward RJ was totally random, no build-up, nothing.  Maybe the plan is to make them rivals.  Not just in business, but personal...It seemed Zende was giving Luna the once-over a couple times during the fashion show.  I could be wrong.

And what's with Bill and Poppy??

The stapler made an appearance.

In just two episodes there is a rivalry between Zende and RJ.

Zende being the antagonist between Luna and RJ.

I have to admit that as much as RJ is a snack, I'd be all over Team Zende if I was Luna. That man is so beautiful he's pretty.

I think this story could be interesting IF they actually flesh it out, but some build up would have been nice. Zende went from not being seen for months to suddenly hating RJ. But, I think Zende has a point. I mean..just look at how much screen time he gets versus the white Forresters! Also, literally EVERYBODY in the family has been told Eric is dying except Zende. All of sudden, NOW Ridge wants to respect his wishes??

If it turns out that Luna is Bill's, it seems like another lost opportunity that the writers didn't fully explore. This whole time they should have been building Bill/Li, so when this was revealed, Li would really have a reason to hate her sister if Bill was the first man she moved on with after her divorce. I mean...this writes itself! What are the writers doing? So, so many story beats are overlooked that would make the plot as whole better.

And...IF Luna is Bill's, this would be the third child he didn't know he had?! Did Dollar Bill EVER use protection? It's not that hard!

    • Christian Streaty penned today's Day's script. https://www.linkedin.com/in/christian-streaty/
    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.
