Double weddings are really weird to me.  Why would you want to share that day?  Period.  These 4 barely know each other, but I think it's just a strange concept in general.  The only case I could sort of understand it is in when Carrie/Austin and John/Marlena did it.  They've both had weddings to one another a million times so why not?

I guess we have to see how the Sloan stuff plays out on Monday because it seemed massively stupid to me too @j swift And, honestly, I liked both the wedding dresses.  Jada's dress was fabulous though.

Shout out to Richard Bloore, Costume Designer, DAYS! All 3 dresses were fabulous! I did not like Leo's suit but it does look like something he would wear.

Loved Kristen's line, to Dimitri: "You know, they say it's bad form to text with your boyfriend on your wedding day when you're about to marry the woman of your dreams."

It goes without saying that they are all beautiful women, but I am biased against brides wearing their hair down under a veil, I think it looks messy.  It also seemed like Kristen and Jada were dressed for an evening wedding, but Gabi wasn't.  And I guess nobody upholds the tradition of not wearing white when it is your third or fourth wedding.

On the subject of double weddings, the only reference that I have is that I grew up in a temple where due to the number of kids getting Bat Mitvah-ed we all had to share the date.  Given that I don't like a lot of attention in large crowds, I appreciated it, even if I can't recall the girl's name that I shared the day with, even if you offered me half of Dimitri's inheritance.

I think Gabi's dress was supposed to more artsy or avant-garde since she's a designer or something.  I prefer hair down under a veil lol.

I remember Days used to change up the color slightly for brides on their third or fourth wedding day.  I feel like Sami, Carrie and Hope at least all had slightly beige-y colors for their dresses and Marlena wore light blue to her "main" John wedding in 99.  I guess it just doesn't matter anymore lol.

I have honestly never known anyone in real life who had a double wedding.  I actually have never heard of it outside of tv shows or movies.  If anyone on this board knows someone who's done it in real life let me know.

I would hope that Dimitri split the cost with Stefan, but given that there were no centerpieces, catering, or invitations, it didn't seem that costly.

Marlena's blue gown is iconic, as memorialized in Rachel's doll.

The etiquette of a double wedding seems difficult to maneuver.  Do you have double maids-of-honor?  Do the guests need to send two gifts?  It seems especially awkward to share such an intimate moment while your Mom's also in a bridal gown.

Personally, I would turn down the invitation to a double wedding because much like the one on Passions, the ceremony would take forever to complete (and someone might crash their car into the event).

Finally, I agree that if you're looking for realism, or erudite dialogue, DAYS may not be for you.  From Micky's amnesia on a farm to Marlena's twin taking over her identity, DAYS never tried to be a realistic soap.  It is a silly diversion made better because we can discuss it as a community.

I would say that DAYS has always had realism in their friend & family relationships. No not realistic in how bizarrely people are kin to each other. But, in how they react to each other & that the family & friend business is still retained. Sometimes a good day is only good because of the conversation between & among family or friends.

At the risk of contradicting myself on the realism issue, can we discuss the prop used for Nicole's test results?

First, I don't know of any medical system who wouldn't want to bill for another visit in order to review the results.  There's not a test that I've taken in the past decade that didn't require a meaningless follow-up appointment to tell me that my cholesterol is high, and I need to eat fewer eggs.

Second, maybe they'd print out the result rather than emailing them.  But, I don't think they'd be in an envelope like that.

Third, due to a number of variables, must results don't include a specific narrative, so Sloan would have to know a lot about DNA in order to deduce that EJ was not a match.

Although, this is the same hospital that Marlena showed Kayla her co-worker Nurse Whitley's psychiatric case notes without consent.  I'm certain there's more people here who've had amniocentesis than a double wedding, so feel free to respond if you are a content expert.

I was laughing that the specialist Dr told EJ that she didn't need to be there because the results were self explanatory.  He wasn't the father.  She was just going to let EJ read that by himself lol?  There were clear variances I am sure she was aware of but wouldn't follow up at all?  That's actually how the show explained it.  So silly...

I am not sure what Marlena was thinking.  I thought maybe it was because Kayla had already reviewed her patient files when Marlena was suspended for her MarDevil actions, but that didn't seem to be the case or at least Kayla didn't acknowledge it.

    • On GL we only saw young GA's Philip in very short shorts but on AMC we saw GA's Alec McIntyre in a speedo.
    • I mentioned that last week and I am glad Tate and Sophia just realized that today lol.  I think the show is just tying up some of Ron's loose ends.   You would think Brady, Holly or even Marlena would have perhaps pointed out the age thing to Tate at some point. I am not sure I like this shift in Sophia's characterization though.  MK played Sophia as someone who always defied her mom's rules-she just didn't get caught.  She was openly trying to steal Tate from Holly with no shame, showing up at the Horton cabin in bikinis to seduce him, and blackmailing Holly to work all her shifts at the Bistro.  Once the recast started the show has acted like Sophia's lived in her room, sheltered her entire life lol.
    • I thought Dante was going to put hands on Gio
    • If Jordan never appeared again, I would absolutely not notice or miss her.  So, while Brook Kerr has her flaws, she at least appears to have a pulse and a personality as Portia.
    • That's because India, or the India MKA ended up playing, was created due to the fact that both she and Kristi Farrell were liked by TPTB, but the part they both read for didn't exactly fit either one of them so the show created two brand new characters for both actresses to play (India and Roxie) and opted not to cast the character they were intending to cast (A cousin of Beth's). I think that's why the show seemed to struggle at first with how to write both India and Roxie in their first months on the show because the characters weren't ever intended to exist.  And yes.. Grant A had a great body... but I didn't find him hot when he was playing Phillip.. only when he was playing Alec on AMC which baffles me since it was the same actor in both parts LOL
    • I shared this on Twitter and good grief the comments. Steffy fans can be such vile real-life human beings over a fictional character lol.
    • I remember Michael Logan interviewed L.A. actors/production staff about the movie. Susan Seaforth Hayes said she was dying to know Susan Lucci's reaction.
    • Thanks @Franko  @slick jones You may be interested in the Elisabeth Shue mention. I have to laugh that they apparently didn't even know Teri Hatcher was on Capitol. I have scans somewhere of SPW talking with soap actors about Soapdish. Some, like Mary Stuart, were not happy. I never had a lot of interest in the movie myself.
    • I never had much of a problem with Brandon Claybon's performance as Martin. He has gotten much better though. While I enjoy his confrontational scenes, I must say his lighter, and carefree scenes from Thursday's episode are the ones that stood out most in the last 3 days (to me).   I agree with all of this!
