Webmaster Errol Posted May 16, 2023 Webmaster Share Posted May 16, 2023 “The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” is the latest live telecast to be impacted by the Writers Strike, with CBS and The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announcing the planned June 16 telecast has been postponed. In a statement, NATAS President & CEO Adam Sharp says, “‘The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards’ planned for Friday, June 16 on CBS is postponed due to the WGA strike. In addition, the Creative Arts & Lifestyle ceremony, planned for Saturday, June 17, has been postponed pending a strike resolution. We look forward to our community gathering together as one to celebrate our Golden Anniversary and all of the talented nominees and honorees at a later date.” Since the strike began on Tuesday, May 2, the MTV Movie & TV Awards went with a pre-taped show and discussions continue over whether the upcoming scheduled telecast of “The 76th Annual Tony Awards” is to go on as planned, despite the WGA denying a request for a strike waiver request.
