Sin City - coolest. film. ever.

Can anyone reccomend other 'noir' type films?

These are some of my favorite Noir type films:

Mulholland Falls

Double Indemnity

L. A. Confidential

The Usual Suspects

Memento

Chinatown

The Manchurian Candidate (1962 version is the best)

Fargo

Cape Fear (1962 version again is the best, but newer version is good too)

Blue Velvet

A Simple Plan

House of Games

Prince of the City

Body Heat

One False Move

The Last Seduction

Face/Off

Enemy of the State

The Grifters

No Way Out

Basic Instinct

The Big Easy

After Dark, My Sweet

The Postman Always Rings Twice (both the Lana Turner and Jessica Lange versions are great)

Copycat

Q&A

Body Double

The Drowning Pool

Black Widow

Tightrope

A Kiss Before Dying

Color of Night

Jade

Bound

Some of those are more "Noir" than others but all are great movies. My absolute faves in the bunch are L. A. Confidential, Body Heat, Q & A, Enemy of the State, Face/Off, and The Usual Suspects

Just got done watching a horror movie called Boo. It sucked, but Rachel Melvin (DAYS' Chelsea) was in it and she was one of the better actors.

Hostel - The first half was typical T&A horror flick, but the second part was gross out horror. I felt dirty after watching. It was more violent than Saw, and I had to look away serveral times.

Date Movie - blew chunks! A waste of 4 bucks.

Hostel: Too short and it takes too damn long for the action to start.

From what I'd heard I expected it to be MORE gruesome than it actually was.

LMAO at cooked-eye-girl walking around and NOBODY noticing her face was terribly burnt.

The ending was great though... I kinda wished the other guy had survived, since I liked him more.

Anyway, I recommend it.

ETA: Great minds think alike Rick!

Hostel was just GROSS. The first half was like Eurotrip with comedy and boobs...then the second half was nothing but gross gore. That is the only movie I saw in the theater and felt nauscious afterwards. It was definitely a weird movie.

Transamerica: Phenomenal!

LOVED Fionnula Flannigan as Stanley/Bree's overtanned mother.

Enjoyed the relationship she developed with her kid.

Worldturns, I just saw it yesterday too!!!!

It was funny! I mean, it didn't blow me away, but it was funny. And Felicity Huffman and Keven Zegers were AMAZING! What a gifted screenwriter Duncan Tucker is!

I also saw Shopgirl...................meh!

I think you guys are being way too generous to Hostel. It was the worst movie I've seen in a long time. It is definitely on my list of top ten worst movies of all time.
