Members All My Shadows Posted July 29, 2014 Members Share Posted July 29, 2014 I posted a status update about this last week, but I have to comment further. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkpjORLrFkM vs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfqhzaRiBW4 I really do enjoy both versions of the song, but I feel like Bonnie Tyler is actually embodying the lyrics and what it means to be in love with married men whereas Bette Midler is siiiiiiiiiiiiinging a song, and the song happens to be about being in love with married men. The wailing really turns into a full-on whine by the end of the song, and there's really no emotion behind it.
