I will always love Tasha Yar but it is obvious they have no investment in this character with Denise in the role lol. She is not suited for heavy material. If they wanted to invest seriously in these two characters (which they could and should do) they'd have cast daytime heavyweights like Robert Newman or Colleen Zenk to raise hell at GH. They aren't invested in any real story for them or for Liz, that's why the entire Webber storyline wrapped in literally 3 days after dragging on for like a year.

Indeed.

Which made it more shocking when Tasha Yar showed up even with the foreshadowing.

They're right. But this show is obsessed with generic baby stories and has been afraid to discuss abortion since well before Dobbs last year, and I have no faith in them ever maturely or openly discussing COVID or abortion rights on a show uniquely suited to take these issues on.

Last year on #SoapTwitter we ran a fan campaign to Frank for 4 weeks as soon as it was foreseeable that they would need Liz's parents for them to cast specifically RN & Zenk. Zenk even took part. RN doesn't do anything online. They really should have listened to us! It would be a very different story.

Well, considering Robert Newman was doing The Young and the Restless, I doubt he would jump ship for another west coast soap.

He had finished at Y&R & gone back east & spent time with his grands, Leo & Rocky, by then. There would've been time in between easily since GH wasn't casting that very instant. Ashland was dead dead. (Ashland? That right? Anyway.) RN would've been rested & have spent time with his people.

Does not necessarily mean he would have wanted to do it. And, judging by how Jeff has been handled thus far, I'm happy he isn't in the role.

(1) Oh, of course, no guarantee he would've wanted it. (2) Okay, now there's a good point!

It's a crying shame that the (seemingly) majority audience for this genre leans ultra-conservative, and Soap Opera execs are in a position where they don't want to risk losing any more viewers so they don't have long-term innovation with stories anymore.

And there are so fewer soaps so the odds that someone will do something daring are decreased.

That is beyond discouraging, because it's that audience that will likely be the undoing of the genre.

I do think we will see Jeff & Carolyn now that they have been re-established. This Hospital needs more doctors.

This was funny to me because on GH this week it feels like it has taken four days to cover one morning in the lives of the citizens of Port Charles.  Since Monday every scene has ended with people saying, "gotta go, it's time for Britt's memorial..."

But, in the end, one could hardly blame Laura and Nik for being late because the whole thing lasted for about 10 minutes.  Hardly enough time to question why General Hospital has an image of Lila Quartermaine on it's memorial wall of dead hospital staff.  At least Edward was on the Board of Directors.  And where's legendary board member Amanda Barrington's picture?  Remember how she dressed in a matching coat and hat ensemble for every meeting?

Someone posted day before yesterday that it was Jan. 2nd in Port Charles. I just had to laugh.
