That opening shot of the hospital sign and the voiceover intoning "On General Hospital..." at least gives a sense of *something* happening. If I didn't know any better I'd think the hospital was going to blowup.

Y&R's ads read like a musical greeting card.

Interestingly, the Friday, January 6 episode also opened with an outdoor shot of the hospital.

I noticed. It looked like the exact same hospital from back in the day. I didn't know they'd done new exteriors of that location since, I don't know, the '80s. And it didn't look like a period shot.

They've used it every now and again for the past few years.
