An Angel Is Uploading Torrents YAY! So I can see again, Yesterday's episode was far better than Friday's, EJ Suffering was well executed, He was at odds with SUSAN so he must be wreaked with guilt

I Understand...

Yeah, Susan Wasn't Around Much back Then, When Susan became a regular, EJ Was Dead Then recast

Oh STFU, Rafe!

I get that he's angry and all, but why's he gotta act like such a little bitch?? Rafe sure has changed over the 14 years he's been on the show

And too bad that we didn't have scenes of Tripp finding out about Ava's death. Lucas Adams would've been great, and I would've loved to have seen them. Hasn't been a good year for my buddy Tripp

With the way everyone's referring to Ava and Susan, you would think that there was an episode or two that was missing or something.

As for today's episode, Dan Feuerriegel once again stole the show. I loved EJ's scenes with Marlena. He's really been given a chance to shine as EJ in these last few episodes. He hasn't gotten that too often and I really enjoyed seeing him finally get that chance.

Rafe is still a dick, but I do gotta admit, that pie looked a little nasty and part of me doesn't blame him for throwing it out

As for Alex and Stephanie, the friggin guy admits that he grew up in Adrienne's house, admits that he knows the recipe for Jo's special muffins, yet this year was the first time he ever met his cousin Stephanie?? Go figure  The smart decision for this storyline would have been to say Alex had always had a crush on Stephanie, even when they were kids, but that she never reciprocated his feelings until now.

And again, I wish the show would realize that RSW is not a romantic lead, no matter what they write for him or how they try to prop him. Even in today's episode, when he was trying to be romantic, he still came off like a creepy predator. We all know that he's hot af, but it isn't going to work. Ever.

Alex and Stephanie does NOT work. Her suddenly liking him was so abrupt and unrealistic. Lol Alex admits he grew up with Adrienne but somehow managed never to meet his basically cousin that lived in the same town ever.

I don’t think EJ’s caring is out of the blue. Since Dan took over, they’ve actually shown him to be quite close with Stacy’s Susan. James Scott’s EJ though I don’t remember any interaction or mentioning of Susan.

Dan is truly acting his ass off for this story.

I actually liked Ava when she wasn’t with Rafe. I was looking forward to her being accepted into the DiMera fold, but that wasn’t in the plans.

Was yesterday's episode the extra episode they added in?  I loved EJ and Marlena, but the whole thing felt very random.  Why on earth would Marlena go see EJ on Thanksgiving?  All the scenes felt weird and slapped together like Gabi, Li, and Rafe.  Nothing was bad, I even semi enjoyed Stephanie/Alex, but it felt like an inserted episode with people that had some guarantees to burn.  Dan was very good though.

Also, if I had a doll of my own likeness like Marlena it would be in the middle of my mantel at all times.  Marlena showed restraint by keeping it in a box for so long

Yes.  The November episodes were written much earlier in the year, assuming they'd air on NBC and that there would be the annual Thanksgiving preemption.  The shift to Peacock meant that there would be no preemption. So they added an "insert episode", so that that Christmas and other special occasions would stream on the correct dates.

It seems like Wed. Nov. 23 and Thurs. Nov. 24 were originally one episode, and they filmed some extra scenes - or filmed an entire extra episode -- and then moved things around and split it in half.  Or they filmed extra scenes, and rearranged scenes from the entire week.  Something like that.

I thought DF was great today again.  I didn't even MIND Rafe in scenes with him.  I liked Jada's spunk today.  Nicole really is her own worst enemy.

Sarah figured out Xander real quick.  Maggie was being ridiculously naive.  Are they going to pair Xander/Gwen again?  Looks that way.

It's a little weird Marlena is taking Susan's death so hard.  She didn't even blink/know? her bff Laura died.  But she wasn't up for Thanksgiving because Susan died?  Lol.  Where was everyone else that lives in that house at?

OMG, who is that in the blue with the hair with Jennifer?

I’ve given her a fair chance, but I’ve come to the conclusion that I just don’t care for Jada. I don’t ever find myself rooting for her even when she’s in the right. She strikes me as a classic soap “good person” who ends up going nuts and turns into a villain before getting killed or carted off to jail.

    • I know this is probably heresy and this isn't the B&B thread, but I think Susan Flannery and Stephanie were highly overrated and that KKL was extremely underrated during the same period.
    • That is fair, but I just want to see something dramatic and messy (like another poster mentioned). Plus, we know and like Kat, Jacob, and Naomi, so it would be more interesting. Hayley was already a homewrecker when we met her, and her limited backstory was all exposition. As far as young love, I would have Tyrell fall for the daughter or son of a rival congressman/woman of Martin's. Try a classic soap opera Romeo and Juliet story with a DC twist.
    • That's an interesting point. I generally think of Long as taking inspiration from Tennesse Williams and other Southern writers.  The only one that comes close for CBS soaps may be Lucinda Walsh or Sally Spectra, and maybe those grotesque later years of Stephanie Forrester where she kept beating people up and attacking them with canes.
    • @alwaysAMCKim Zimmer is also not very reliable when it comes to dates and facts about the show. If you go in what that in mind, it'll be ok. She get things wrong. She was so angry at Ellen Wheeler that the anger comes off the page. She blamed Wheeler for decisions that John Conboy had made. She also thinks Paul Rauch was the show's best producer. As @P.J.points out, Zimmer's acting range far surpasses Lucci's, but it still felt that the writers just kept Reva the same mental age for the rest of the series. Long loved the whole damaged Southern belle routine.  Zimmer was still doing the red dress thing although to her credit she was not doing a whole storyline about joining a showgirls troupe the way Lucci did in her late fifties/early sixties (I'm too lazy to do the googling and the math).  I believe Zimmer is immensely talented but Reva was never a character that I rewatch much if at all. When I go back and watch GL clips, it's rarely any clips related to Reva. I will rewatch Michelle Forbes's storylines and work for example, but if Zimmer is in some of it, I almost always FF.  I just don't care about Reva during these storylines. I'm on Sonni's side even though I know how it turns out. While GL was on, I found the repetitive nature of Reva's storylines annoying even when I didn't watch the show and just read summaries. I think Zimmer deserved better material; I think of her tapes when she won her third Emmy. Stellar work but then it was right back to Josh/Reva. I think of her work on Designing Women, and how she could hit different notes and was so effective.
    • Just some clarification: David Hasselhoff was hubby #2! Per Google, she was married to another man in October 1981 and divorced him in 1982. So, Michael E. Knight was hubby #3. Here I thought Vincent Irizarry was still married. Shrug. Maybe he dated Hickland in between her marriages to MEK and hubby #4, Todd Fisher? (Yes, brother to Carrie and son of Debbie Reynolds...)

Vincent Irizarry throws in a quick mention that he was dating Catherine Hickland when he first heard about Marj.  I wonder when this was..? She was married to David Hasselhoff for a good bit of the 80's. And then MEK for most of the 90's. Fun fact... David Hasselhoff played Michael Knight on Knight Rider. Then she married an actor named the same as her first husband's character.
    • I agree with a lot of what has been mentioned before me. I think BTG desperately needs another family.  Character ages still throw me. There have been several times where I still think Martin is Vernon and Anita's child and then a character says something and I'm like oh right. It doesn't help that he hardly socializes with his parents or Kat. I do not care about the secondary characters... Ashley, Derek, Vanessa, Doug, Pamela, Joey, Jan, Mona, the gym dude can all go and I wouldn't care. The exception being Shanice. There is a decent hospital set and police station set but most characters have other jobs. They could have easily had characters interact at work and make it seem organic. Instead they had Derek showing up at someone's work let alone a police officer to talk about his quarrel with Ashley. Also, falling into the trap of having stories that soaps no longer have the budget for. That fashion show was tragic and so was the award gala. The potential trial between Naomi and Bill being dropped was probably due to lack of a courtroom set. However, how soapy would it have been if Bill had a heart attack at the trial and Naomi feeling guilty. It would have also been a way to easily redeem the character of Bill to Naomi but also Dani and Chelsea who would face what losing him would ultimately mean.
    • Not too upset with Martin and Bradley being married. It's a first for daytime, so I love that BTG came out of the gate breaking barriers. I hope that the show plays on their past in the most soapiest ways. This doesn't have to be Martin's first marriage. What if Bradley's parents were some real grifters or con artists? Does he have siblings?      I agree with/ @Cheap21    Kat gives me a smart businesswoman.  With everything she is currently dealing with I can see her becoming a shark in the boardroom. So I'm looking forward to that business storyline.
    • That's what happened with Hope Williams Brady on DAYS.  Started as rich princess, went to the police academy.   Became a cop.  Now consults for the I.S.A.
