I have already said I thought the whole Chanel/Allie threesome idea was cringe and stupid, but I don't think it's that weird to ask your sibling about it.  I wouldn't think it was weird if my sisters ask me about it.   Although if my brother asked me it might be weirder, but we are 10 years apart in age and not that close.  Will/Allie seem very close.

Interesting. I mean, it's not like I'm clutching on to my proverbial pearl necklace or anything. I'm the youngest in my family and the black sheep. I think I just talk to my older siblings to gain more insight as they have more life experiences than I do. Then again, there are things that they learn from me too as I have a mouth. As far as Will and Allie, I guess I just didn't really think that they were that close? I dunno. Chanel just made her decision that she wanted to be with Allie (who kind of reminds me of actress Emma Kenney), and two weeks later, Allie thinks that a threesome will spruce up or ignite her relationship with Chanel? I mean, when Allie was dressed up like a slob for their hangout with Alex, I knew who played the role in that relationship, you know what I'm sayin'? And Chanel just selfishly lies there on the bed and doesn't even reciprocate.

We were told Allie/Will were close, but we obviously haven't seen much of it since Allie grew up offscreen.  Idk, I don't think it's that odd for Will to be her scene partner in this, but I can see how some people would.  It's not like Allie really has any friends to talk to.  I can't really think of anyone else she could ask that would be less weird than Will.

I think you would also have to consider how often we have seen Allie/Chanel since July 29th.  To me, it does feel like they just got together as well.  We haven't seen much of a honeymoon phase and now we are moving into the relationship trouble stage.

Sure, they've not been offered up to us much, one day a week *some* but not all weeks! Pretty stingy. But, unfortunately as soap fans we have to live with the idea that they are together even though we're not seeing them do things, just like the unseen children are being taken care of, soaps today are so out of balance that "in abstentia activities" has better guarantees than the actors do, I think!! Heck, we've got three veterans on death's door & we've seen them sick, what, two days?! What We Don't See could be a great thesis for Soaps 101 in 2022.

Okay, now we are just splitting hairs over 2 weeks vs. 2 months-neither of which is a long time in real life or a soap.  Chanel/Allie really have never had any period of stability or enjoyment for their fans.  There has been immediate conflict from Johnny, Alex, threesomes etc.  There has been 0 payoff for Chanel/Allie fans and now we are moving into ridiculous territory with this 'story' if you can even call it that because we know they won't have a threesome.

Well, something does happen this week, according to the preview.

But yeah, you're 100% correct that there's been no payoff or no honeymoon period for Chanel and Allie. And for Xander/Sarah and Chad as well. They really have to slow down the storylines. Idk if it's because of episode guarantees or something, but that shouldn't be tied to the length of a storyline.

Hold on. I'm not splitting any hair & I think you're describing the poor way they're telling stories today. Somewhere something has gone missing in this discussion. I'm agreeing that we've not seen enough. Already agreed. Still do agree. As a Challie fan I'm p*ssed that we haven't had more & now they're being written out of character for a stunt in theory.

Chanel and Allie are dull as dirt. Chanel and Johnny were the better couple but the pairing was rushed. .... With Li sister appearing this week it looks like he'll be involved in the quad with Tripp and Joey who also return this week.

    • Very. They're building up his story again and picking the perfect time to do so. As the SilkPress storyline climaxes and go off in several great directions, they are building up that story to take a turn.

    • @Soapsuds Thanks for posting Night by night Mon 8pm The Rookies edged Gunsmoke but attracted younger(more desirable) viewers.NBC failed with Born Free/Smothers Brothers (how many different series did those 2 get??) 9-11pm  Maude/Rhoda/Medical Center dominated on CBS,but Football and Movies were competitive on an occasional basis. ABC tried  SWAT/Caribe later in the season and the former worked for them. Tues 8-11 pm CBS all the way Good Times, MASH, Hawaii Five O,Barnaby Jones. NBC had the fading Adam 12,Movie and Police Story mmm...don't see that listed? ABC Happy Days, which ABC decided to keep despite lackluster ratings, the Movie of the Week and Marcus Welby-once pulling big numbers but no longer. 8pm NBC had a new hit with Little House, easily beating Sons and Daughters, which was axed and replaced with Tony Orlando, which did much better. ABC had That's My Mama and the Wed movie. 9pm Cannon was the lead here as Lucas Tanner failed to capitalize on the LHOTP leadin. ABC continued the movie. 10pm Manhunter started strong for CBS but petered out and was cancelled. Petrocelli manged to beat Get Christie Love, which was replaced by Baretta-no ratings winner but ABC decided to renew. Thurs Another CBS night with The Waltons and a movie. ABC counterprogrammed with Odd Couple/Paper Moon then Barney Miller/Karen NBC did even worse with Sierra and replaced it with Mac Davis which improved ratings quite a bit. However, it was moved to 9pm for Sunshine/Bob Crane 9pm Some good numbers for ABC with Streets of San Francisco fending off Ironside,Archer and Mac Davis. 10pm Harry O had a slim victory over Movin On Fri 8-11 NBCs best night Sanford/Chico/Rockford/Police Woman. 8pm CBS had high hopes for Planet of the Apes but it bombed. Replacement Khan did even worse. Paul Sand and We'll Get By were tossed in at the end of the season. With poor lead ins the Friday movie didn't deliver. ABC's odd line up saw Kodiak flop, Six Million dollar Man struggle and Texas Wheelers  quickly cancelled. Kung Fu was brought in @8 and Six Million moved to 9. Then Kolchak took over at 8 and Hot*l Baltimore/Odd Couple 9-10. Despite controversy Hot*l flopped. 10pm ABC tried Kolchak then Baretta and finally Get Christie Love Sat CBS lead  with #1 AITF then Paul Sand/MTM/Bob Newhart/Carol Burnett. Paul Sand lost too much of the lead in so CBS spun off The Jeffersons and it was a smash. NBC did OK with Emergency (which beat Paul Sand on occasion, thus hastening that show's demise) and a movie. ABC was a disaster with New Land/Kung Fu and Nakia all failing. They introduced a movie @9 and moved Kung Fu to 8. Sun  NBC  with Disney and Mystery Movie (Columbo McCloud, MacMillan and Wife/Amy Prentiss)did well. ABC flopped with Sonny Bono and recovered by moving Six Million Dollar Man from Fri as a lead in to the movie. CBS hoped Apples Way would be another Waltons but no, so Cher did what Sonny couldn't. Kojak and Mannix successfully finished out the night. Two other shows on the ratings list were Adams of Eagle Lake starring Andy Griffith. Only 2 episodes aired and did well, so I'm not sure what happened there. As for The Law it was a series follow up to a 2 and a half hour NBC special movie .

    • Trust is very easily lost and very hard to re-build.
    • Oh, I know it was. I was just talking about how it's not giving me parallels to Caroline dying. It's really as far from it as possible.  But about the foreshadowing - Hahahhahah. Yes. And you missed one - Liam googling - "what is cancer"...

    • @Maxim This Liam dying out of the blue was crafted in a hurry for three reasons: 1. To facilitate JMW's leave 2. To prop Steffy - 'Oh, Steffy has so much grace and moral superiority that she ignored everything that swine HoLo did to tell her for the sake of their daughters. Queen Stephanie would be so proud of her!' 3. Distracting Steffy enough to give Lunacy an easy way to slither into Finn's life. Once Luna discovers that Lame is dying, she'll play that card: 'Dad, life is too short and precious!' If this was an intentional story, we would've had the typical B&B foreshadowing - Liam faceplanting into a bowl of pasta, Lame missing meetings, being forgetful. Instead, Lame does an impulsive quick quit and $B doesn't even care enough to make a single attempt to get him back? Please.
