What major soap change/event would shock you if it happened this year?

I have no suggestions for DOOL. For GH I think Esme does the trick.

It really couldn't hurt to create someone new for a change, or reinvent a character we haven't seen in a long time.

Esme is basic. Just like Hannah O'Connor on OLTL and Nelle on GH. They weren't "big bads".  All the same model from #firefrank. He doesn't let his writers create. Just follow the model...

I'd be shocked if Y&R got a new HW, seems like JG is going nowhere anytime soon.  His Y&R might as well be sponsored by Unisom.

We need a "Stefano" "James Stenbeck" "Carl Hutchins" or "Roger Thorpe" villain.  One that could wreak terror long term and drive story.

I just thought of another one! How about Bold and the Beautiful has big earthquake after 36 years! How have they not gone that route yet? Or for the sake of the soap gods, wildfires?!

B&B had an earthquake in spring 1994. Los Angeles had an earthquake in January 1994.
