He came in as a sub to finish out the Stefan story because the other guy couldn't show up to work sober. He strikes up maybe a teeeeeny amount of chemistry with Camila Banus, and now we're stuck with him in the land of misfit characters that have no need to be on canvas. She has history with Justin, Victor, and was Jack's step mom for a while as well. To bad they killed Angelica when Morgan Fairchild played her several years ago. (We've never really gotten clarity on how much contact he had with Anjelica over the years, which was a weird missing piece from when she showed up fixated on getting Justin back.) It was SUPER weird to bring her back (and have her fixated on Justin) without explaining much about her relationship with Alex or what their lives had been like.
