Good riddance. Even though this season was slightly better than the last 2 fiascos. It was still bad.

May be an image of 3 people and text that says 'People HBO Drops Surprise Announcement: Sarah Jessica Parker's And Just Like That Will End amid Widespread Criticism of This Season'

I really do hope the widespread criticism did lead to this decision, no matter what the PR fluff tries to say. It's just so sudden and bizarre. I hope they know they messed up. Some of MPK's work was so good. How did we end up with this?

What they did was totally sabotage a chance to make a real impact and create something amazing. I’m one of the people who believes that women in their 50s and 60s have a lot of life in them... plenty of sex too. But what MPK pulled in AJLT was a total disaster. All the characters turned into caricatures. Miranda? A total clown show. I don't know why Cynthia Nixon was so hell-bent on morphing Miranda into herself. I mean WTF. Miranda was NEVER like that. You don't suddenly get a new brain in your late 50s. In the end, they wrecked everything. Now, I can’t even sit through SATC without cringing AF. I’d need some serious time to detox from AJLT to enjoy the show like I used to.

Also... MPK hasn't written a single adequate episode of AJLT. All the tolerable ones were written by others. I too wonder... what the hell happened to this man? I regularly listened to his podcast with the other writers and he is disturbingly out of touch with reality. He thinks that AJLT is the Holy Grail of streaming and television. He thinks that they are pushing some invisible boundaries with having Miranda put on a strap-on. Or having Carrie listen to Miranda have loud orgasms in her kitchen while peeing herself. AND THAT WAS one of the BETTER episodes.

And I’m with you 100 percent... no matter what they claim... or how they try to spin the narrative... we all know there’s no way this third season was ever meant to be the finale. They were sure we would be buying this nonsense for years. Buut, surprise surprise... the third season tanked in terms of viewership.

It IS POSSIBLE and entirely in MPK's style that all of this is for publicity and to make the last 2 episode's viewership skyrocket. So that they can have 1-2 year break again. They can just easily reveal they are coming back when we least expect it. It just doesn't sound like this horrible eczema type of show will disappear so easily.

It's like an itch that won't ever go away. They will not let us rest. LOL.

Who knows... all I think is that this season is definitely not final feeling. At all. (But I hope it is.)

I understand that And Just Like That is a different show from Sex and the City, but it lacked the humor and intelligence that the original had in spades. One of the biggest issues was the absence of a clear point of view. I really wish the show had told the story through Carrie’s lens, the way the original did—it needed that connective tissue to bring everything together. Instead, the storytelling felt disjointed, and new characters like LTW—while interesting on her own—never really connected with the rest of the cast beyond Charlotte. Seema came the closest to establishing a real bond with the core group, but even she often felt like she was on her own island. Visually, the show delivered with beautiful cinematography and impeccable wardrobe, but that was about it. It had style, but no substance—the writing was ultimately disappointing.

Compare that to the Dexter franchise which seems to go from strength to strength with the three new series surpassing the previous one. They absolutely expected "And Just Like That..." to run for years, but they botched it. SJP admitted to not watching the original - which is fine if you're just an actor doing your job, but if you're going to step up to the plate you clearly need to understand the appeal of the original in the first place. Cynthia Nixon seemed to want Miranda to reflect her own life, despite it making zero sense in Miranda's case. Michael Patrick King seemed mostly into the whole embarrassment as humour thing, but seemed to have little ideas beyond that.

We've just started Dexter. The OG series. What you are saying sounds exciting. It's great that they found a way to re-invent the show so many times.

And yes, 100 percent agree that Nixon threw herself into Miranda and ruined her. The show shouldn't have had the main actresses as producers. That was a huge red flag.

And MPK is creatively spent. He is out of touch with reality. I would have invited some of the other OG writers like Darren Star.

Now it's really sad... because all was for nothing. I even had a HBO subscription for this sh-t. I'll never forgive them for it.

It bothered me to hear her say she doesn’t watch most of the episodes. I get it when soap actors say that—those shows run five days a week, all year long. But SATC and AJLT only had about a dozen episodes per season. It’s not exactly an overwhelming commitment.

I mean, I get in general when actors say that they aren't watching their own shows. If I was an actor, I probably wouldn't either! I assume some people just feel odd watching themselves, while I'm sure others are unbothered by it.

However, once you get creatively involved... you need to watch the show you're making, period. How else can you understand what people found appealing about it in the first place?

I may be a pathological skeptic, but I don't believe her when she says that. SJP is known for saying stuff like that. She claims stuff I hard veeeeery hard to believe, some of it is in order to make herself seem like a normal chick still taking the subway every day and eating 2 dollar hot dogs. I'm not saying she's a liar, just that she likes to get in character in these interviews. 😁

I think she watches every single frame of the show... but denies it. If we take her word for it... then what the hell is she producing?! 😂

this show was terrible and didnt really need to last more than a season. It was good to check in on the ladies but it go off the rails and was just stupid
