Oooo S2 was so good, wasn't it? It had the right amount of humor and darkness IMO. Season 3 was great too (although I hated Holtz).

I forgot about David Greenwalt being showrunner and HW. He also did great things on Buffy S1-3 and his episodes were often standouts.

It was. The s2 Darla arc was always my favorite. And I was never so happy to not watch a promo when I was unspoiled about the twist at the end of the Trial episode cuz I loved THAT return and screamed...and rewatched. Ah the VHS days...lol. To this day, I usually stop at the Harmony episode as the end of S2. I hate Pylea. ;)  Perhaps I will watch it this time around.

Yeah, Greenwalt leaving definitely was felt.

Last year doing lockdown, I re-watched Buffy Seasons 1-5, and it was so great coming back to the show and remembering how much it meant to me.

I usually re-watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer twice per-year; during quarantine last year I must've watched it six or seven times in a four-month period. Never gets old.

Much as I enjoy a select few season 5 episodes, I generally just pretend Buffy ended after season 3. I did like Tara, but knowing Amber Benson is one of many actors who had a bad experience on the show has colored my memories.

Oh! Why do you feel that way?

Losing Giles IMO was a big mistake.

I think it was due to the series' move to UPN. I got the loss of Giles and understood it, and I think that's what made his "special guest" appearances even more special.

S4 was underrated IMO because I enjoyed that too. It felt like a goodbye to the precedents set in S1-3, though, and for that reason, was somewhat bittersweet.

I hate the fourth season with a burning passion; I can understand why people like it, but I absolute hate it to this day.

Currently on the final season of Angel and trying to push past how badly Joss Whedon treated Charisma Carpenter.

The fact Charisma Carpenter was told Cordelia wouldn't be killed off, only to get to the set, see the script and see that Cordelia does, in fact, die is an insult to her.

I know SMG has had struggles with finding the right roles for quite a while now. I don't know if Buffy needs to come back, especially as the show ran about 4 years too long and the shadow of Joss Whedon is always going to hang over everything. I do wish them luck and I hope they give Buffy fans a happy conclusion for the character (as I know most of the show will be about new characters).

Well, the IP is now owned by Disney since the Fox acquisition, and you know they’ll have their hands (specifically Karey Burke) all over this sh!t (and hence the Hulu deal).

I was a huge Sarah Michelle Gellar fan in my early teens. I was obsessed with I know what you did last summer! I'm happy for her. I think Buffy has potential in 2025 to become a huge hit again. I would also hope that she has more than... recurring role in it. But that's just me.

I'm hopeful that this could finally lead to a PROPER remaster, because the one we received was an insult. An absolute abomination that they should hit DELIVER on.

Im assuming Buffy will player watcher/mentor to the newest slayer. We inda had that in Season 7 so I would hope something different happens. Like she's trated as a legend but hasnt been seen in years, potentially presumed dead until a new threat forces her to emerge

Isn't Sarah doing the Dexter prequel show? I doubt she is hurting for money or needs to do this.

Nor do I think a sequel/remake series really needs to exist. I can understand keeping Joss out of it after all the trauma, but without at least some of that past creative team it's going to feel very strange. The tone and language of BTVS/Angel was very specific.

Very strange for Chloe Zhao to go from winning Best Picture a few years back to the Eternals flop and now well, this.

She's a "special guest star" on Dexter: Original Sin.
